Don't throw it away, send it to me. I've heard so much I want to give it a shot.

I just started MOI as part of my obligatory SE reread before TtH comes out. I don't think I'll finish, but am having fun trying.

PM me Your address and i'll snail mail it to you. It may take a while though for it to reach you.

Seriously? I didn't really expect you to send it to me. I'm not going to argue if you wanted to though.

If you want it, its yours. It'll cost me $3 to send it so its not like it's going to send me bankrupt in the process.

As long as the drivel is out of my life.

Sweet! Thanks. I wanted to try it out, but was hesitant to spend the money because of the mixed reviews. This works out well. I'll pm you my address.

And I picked up "The Name of the Wind", By Patrick Rothfuss. And seriously, What the fuck? I've been hearing people in real life and on the internet saying how good this book is. How its a "Breath of fresh air" and so on and so forth. I barely made it through the first chapter before I threw it in the trash.

Terrible.

Couldn't agree more. RLY, you're wasting Trouble's money

Just couldn't get into this book at all. Together with Hal Duncan and Brian Ruckley, Rothfuss is one of the big stand-out dissapointments after recommendations from the usual suspects (Wert, pat etc)

What intrigues me about it is the bipolar reviews I've heard. People either think it's the next great thing to hit fantasy, or find it unreadable. I just want to see which group I'll fall under.

I am a bit sceptical about bipolar reviews after I tried to read The Book of the New Sun. So much price, while it appeared to be a big pile of rubbish for me.

The thing is, pick about any book out there, and if you look hard enough you'll be able to find someone who hates it and someone else who loves it. I'm normally willing to give it a shot. And really, if it sucks, all I've lost is the time it took to read it, which normally isn't long for one book.

It would not stop me from trying either. But now I realise that there is a very big chance I am going to be in I hate it camp. Although wasting time on a book I don't like is an issue because I am a slow reader. A book 800-900 pages long will take me 4 weeks to read.

So far, I have stabled upon 5 books/series like that:

Tomas Covenant
American Gods
The Secret history of Moscow
The Book of the New Sun
Earthsea
Only Two Things Are Infinite, The Universe and Human Stupidity, and I'm Not Sure About The Former.

Hey guys!

Coming to you live from beautiful Wroclaw, Poland! Just watched Spain beat Italy on a giant screen set up outside the market square, and it was sweet!

Though I'm still on vacation for about a month, I posted my review (which was on standby) of Jim Butcher's upcoming Dresden Files novelette Backup on the blog.

Have a good one! :(

Just finished reading BLACK MAN/13 by Richard Morgan. Really enjoyed it, but didn't think it was quite as good as Altered Carbon. It got a bit slow towards the end as there was so much talky talky. Am hoping there will be another book following this, or at least another Kovacs novel.

Will have to see if The Steel Remains is any good.

Next on my list is UNTIED KINGDOM by JAMES LOVEGROVE. No idea if it's any good, but i got it out of the library since it'll be weeks before i can get TtH.

I've finished a comic book, "Tales from the Crypt, volume 1", and it was a fun and ironic read :D.
I've finished also one the best books I've read, ever, "The Shadow of the Wind" by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. I'm still working at the review, but I think it will be post tomorrow.
And I've started "Winterbirth" by Brian Ruckley.

Given up on Bilsborough's "Wanderer's Tale"; this book is terribly boring. Lacking humour and charme, and an excellent example of why the writers shouldn't always describe every hair on every sheep the brave questing travellers meet on their way.

Now starting "Night of Knives" by you-know-who. :D
The problem with people who have no vices is that generally you can be pretty sure they're going to have some pretty annoying virtues.

Not in the UK. At least yesterday it was not in a local Waterstone.
