Finished Enclaves--read all 5 books in about 2 days.

Great series, probably the closes thing we've had to another take on Shadowrun. very enjoyable, sometimes thought-provoking, though I did feel that Panov shoe-horned the plot a bit. I loved most of the ideas he played around with, but the execution was a bit off. Probably due to the whole "protagonist can do no wrong"-message that the last 2 books conveyed. Made the plot seem a lot weaker.

Anyhow, now i'm re-reading "The Secret City", currently on Book 5, hopefully this time i'll get further and finish the cycle.

I'm reading Eats, Shoots & Leaves for some reason.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Finished: Shadows in the Darkness by Elaine Cunningham. It was not a great but pretty good light Urban Fantasy.

Two guesses:

1. You thought it was some sort of dinner-party murder mystery.

2. Or, you're one of those people who go to the express lane at the grocery store and shout "It's ten items or FEWER, idiots!"
OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Closer to #2, though I rather stew silently.

Passed the halfway point in FoD, and it's _really good_.

Spoiler

Re-reading Dresden Files (currently on Blood Rites). I know I should have waited so that it would line up with Cold Days but bah, couldn't stay away.

Finished A SONG FOR ARBONNE by GGK...not remotely as good as LIONS...but it was much better than I thought it would be and once I got invested in the story it was easier to read. That said, it's still overlong with large sections that I don't see the point of....basically the beginning middle and end are all great...but the section between the beginning and middle...and then the section between the middle and end are both bloat and slow....the book should be leaner and it could be as fierce as LIONS was....but I'm giving GGK credit where due as I enjoyed this one.

Will probably finish off THE WEE FREE MEN, and pick something up from the ToRead pile (probably some Black Library Abnett stuff) to tide me over till TIFF and KING OF THORNS.

Neitzche was right... when you stare too long into the Abyss, the Abyss does look back into you. And probably finds you tasty and crunchy with some ketchup and a little relish on the side.

Just finished Lukyanenko's "New Watch"--great stuff, as always.

I didn't think that was out yet... or did you read it in Russian?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Huh, I never knew North York was Toronto's Russian quarter...you learn something everyday. :)

I've started CALIBAN'S WAR by Corey, and so far it's even better than the first book (which I quite enjoyed).
