Asher is Great. we've been saying it for a while.

I finished "the Atrocity Archives" yesterday. it was good, though at one point in the middle of the book, i had to go and re-read 2 chapters.
that's my only complaint about it--at some points it gets too technical. I love the tone, though.

since my Chapters order has arrived today, i'l be digging into thelast volume of Otherland, and then gonna read the entire Amberghis trilogy.

Just finished The Blade Itself by Abercrombie and completely enjoyed it

and can't wait to get to book 2 but I'll go to The Forever War by Joe Haldemen next since it's a pretty short book.

Just finished Night of Knives by Ian C Esslemont and it was rather dissapointing, but I'm gonna wash the dissapointment away with The Bonehunters later this afternoon.

I'm currently reading an advance copy of Amy Kathleen Ryan's Glow, a sci-fi story that takes place on a generation ship. Not a fan so far, but then I guess it's a YA novel. It certainly feels like one. At least it reads quickly.

Adrian Tchaikovsky - Empire in Black and Gold

Quite good so far, as a veteren fantasy reader it is unique to find different ideas and thoughts of worlds. Its pretty good and i will probably continue to read the whole series

Disagree. Book 2 was weaker. After that, it picks up, though.

Just finished Last Argument of Kings by Joe Abercrombie. Mostly I enjoyed the series though I did find it a little too bleak at times. I'll definitely go looking for his other books at some point though.

Got Storm Front by Jim Butcher and Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson from the library yesterday. I've been waiting ages to read Mistborn, so I think I'll go with that first, although more Dresden is very tempting.

Finished Otherland: the Sea of Silver Light.

Man, this book was long.

this series was great. unlike some here, I didn't really feel there was that much filler that could be cut, w/o losing somehting that was important.

this was a book of answers. and it delivered well. on the scale comparable to "The Crippled God", as far as tying up all loose ends went.

it was a different type of story. I don't usually like these "clear good vs Clear Bad Evil" type stories, but i've enjoyed this ride.

next up, I will read the entire Amberghis trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer.

Yeah, I'd agree that it's a pretty easy read. Not very complicated but an entertaining read with interesting characters. I found some of the foreshadowing quite obvious but then perhaps it was meant to be. And other bits caught me completely by surprise. I think the second book was probably my favourite. Just don't expect anything particularly uplifting to happen.

I did start The Final Empire and now can't shake the unsettling feeling that I've read at least the first two chapters before. I would've sworn I hadn't but everything about it is incredibly familiar. Very odd. Good so far though.

Finished Max Brooks' World War Z. I was, to my surprise, extremely intrigued. I quite enjoyed it and tore through it.

Now onto The Heroes with Revelation Space on deck.

Finished Wise Man's Fear. Okay, Rothfuss has convinced me, I'm sold. This was a more than solid sequel to NotW.

Next Revelation Space by Reynolds. I've heard good things on this.
