It has been proven beyond all reasonable doubt that the most powerful force on Wu is a bunch of messed-up Malazans with Moranth munitions.

Finished Storm Front yesterday and I liked it. It's a very easy book to get into and it reads super quick as unlike a lot of first books in a series you don't have to wade through a massive amount of backstory or character development. This felt like you just meet this guy Dresden and and start to get to know him while the story moves along quickly while getting small bites of past history and a great explanation of the magic used. Very good start...

Keep reading. By the time you get to end of the fourth book you'll be a full blown addict like the rest of us.

So I finished re-reading Dust of Dreams today, and as my TCG copy hasn't arrived yet (grrrr...)

I finished DoD a couple days ago. The great reread is complete. But still no tCG...and checking the mail is becoming a depressing ritual.

Somewhat depressingly I'm already close to a third of the way through TCG and it's getting better and better. The speed at which I'm progressing is the somewhat depressing bit, not the quality, by the way. :admin:

I have finished The Crippled God today and I feel like picking it up and reading it again but I'm gonna pick up Servant of the Empire tonight which I half way had abandoned because my copy of the Crippled God arrived 10 days ahead of schedule .

After I have finished Servant, I'll pick up Mistress of the Empire and start a re read of the whole MBotF including the ICE books when I'm done with Mistress. Kinda doubting where to put Stonewielder in now though (ofcourse after RotCG), not planning on publication date since that's what I kinda have done the first time when I have read the series and this will be my 2nd re read. I'm thinking of putting after Tool the Hounds but before Dust of Dreams.

Ignoring all you F***ckers that not only have TCG but have finished it and are pondering a re-read...oh f*** you all! :admin:

Just finished Ben Aaronovitch's RIVERS OF LONDON/MIDNIGHT RIOT and was quite impressed. Very Dresden-ish by way of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere. Loved it! Can't wait to read book 2!

Since my copy of TCG is not here yet I am going to read Paul Kearney's THE TEN THOUSAND while I wait.

Just starting A Storm of Swords, which I'm pumped for.

After that, it's tCG - well so long as it's arrived by then.

I decided that in the lead up to THE CRIPPLED GOD, everything was going to pale in comparison to my excitement...so instead of starting something new, I am re-reading all 4 trades of Warren Ellis' PLANETARY.

Ok, Hodd was getting dull so I've put it on hold to read tCG instead.

TCG should arrive today, though I still have about 50 pages of Surface Detail to go. Gonna have to find the time to try and finish it this morning, with the hope of starting TCG tonight, if it's delivered.

EDIT: Oh shit, it's here!

ASoS is fucking great.

I also am ploughing through another book to get to TCG.

I would not rush ASoS simply for TCG's sake. If you're going to rush then drop it and get TCG instead. ASoS is too awesome to rush.

TCG OLAY!
"I think i was a bad person before. Before this time. I do not try to be good now but i am not bad. Perhaps if i try harder i may get a better hand dealt next time? But surely that makes it pointless? Perhaps i am good. Just good at being pointless. But that would make me bad. Bad at having a point. Ah…. I see now. I was nothing before, I am nothing now. I am bad purely because im pointless. "

Finished The Crippled God. It's just wow, although 'the timeline is not important' struck once more.

Before I do a slow, meticulous re-read, Abercrombie's The Heroes is top of the TRP, with two Strosses and 2x Brent Weeks beneath it... but those will have to wait.

Halfway through TCG (and SE's reading and Q&A in Manchester was awesome!) Hoping to finish it tonight. Man, it is awesome!

I still await my copy of THE CRIPPLED GOD...thankfully my review copy of Will Hill's DEPARTMENT 19 came from the fine book fairy at Harper Collins Canada, and I spent the last night voraciously reading the first half. It's pretty damn awesome and I can see why there is so much buzz and people are calling it the next big YA title. Action Horror at its best man!

Yes ASOS is great. I'm just over a third of the way through it, and already think it's awesome. I haven't been rushing it, tCG can wait till this is done. Not that I even have my copy yet anyway.
