It is Every time it happens I get dragged right out of the story. Surely his editor should have pulled him to one side and told him you can't wince your pain?

So far I have only noticed one big mistake in the editting of Stonewielder (he used one characters name instead of another one), I believe that the shit storm of criticism that hit when RCG was released may have been fresh in their memory.

i'm beginning to think we should start a 'i'm reading Stonewiedler and want to talk about it but no spoilers' thread....
Caught the character error Apr mentioned - not a big deal. Not bothered by the gruntings and wincings.
Delighted by the general lack of long stinky greasy dank dark sweaty dirty matted twisted slimy hair.
One old friend appearing had me grinning stupidly.

This is obviously the wrong thread for this question, but are the US/UK release dates aligned for tCG? For some reason I thought they were.
Now I can't decide when to read Stonewielder; either I can wait till it lines up after DoD, or just read it after RG and then resume my reread with RotCG->TtH->DoD->SW again.

Time line wise I thought SW was supposed to take place along side the events of TTH and before DOD, I think Esslemont mentioned that in a Q&A somewhere.
Anyway, there is certainly an appearance of one "character" in SW that spoils a surprise in TTH. So, I think SW is meant to be read after TTH.

Just put down Surrender to the will of Night, Cook continues to deliver amazing stuff, but a cliffhangererish end is damn annoying when the next installment may take years...

I have a Sony PRS, and the price of this book on Waterstones UK is £20. Twenty fucking pounds for a bit of data. Even the Amazon UK price (~£9) is scandalous, but I'm seriously considering switching to the Kindle because of shit like that.
I feel really guilty because my wife bought my PRS for me about 18 months ago and spent about £200 on it... how do I tell her I want to discard it to the pile and get a new one so soon? "Cheaper books" probably isn't going to cut it.

About 3/5 through, it will keep me company on the train to and fro when I go take my CPE exams this week. Hopefully I'll be able to devour it in such 'spare time' without rushing. Awesome book so far, it's heavens above RCG, and tbh, most MBotF as well. I'm also liking what he's doing with Kyle.

You don't have to have a Kindle to read it--I'm reading it on my computer screen. I realize you may not want to read it on your computer though. This is more of an FYI for everyone: amazon.com has been selling this ebook since November 25, and I would guess that anyone in any country can download it.
