Redemption Ark is brilliantPosted Image

Suprisingly, Against a Dark Background was the only Banks book I didn't like. The Lazy Gun is Ultra cool, but I didn't really enjoy the book. Don't know whyPosted Image

@Cadz
You what? Damn stupid country towns! Wolves had the big display thing still going on just the other day. I bought it back when I still couldn't get MT yet. Man, this sucks!

Looks like time for another book-buying spree in Melbourne Posted Image

Rushed through American Tabloid. The ending was a bit lackluster.

Now reading Cancer Ward by Solzhenitsyn.

Didn't realise Tad Williams had written anything new. I wasn't overly impressed with his Otherland books - so much so that gave up last one a few pages in.

If he has gone back into his Memory, Sorrow and Thorn style then it would be excellent if not I wouldn't bother.

Just finished Neil Gaiman's 'Neverwhere', which I thought was excellent, better than his 'American Gods' and it reminded in parts of some of Mieville's writing.

Currently reading K.J. Bishop's 'The Etched City'.

Just finished 'Monstrous Regiment' by Terry Pratchett- not his best work, by any means. The satire was dull, the plot twists obvious and the characters uninteresting. Apparently he returns to Ankh-Morpork with 'Going Postal', so hopefully its better as there's nothing worse then a great author running out of steam.

Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell: A Novel" by Susanna Clarke is my favourite book of the year so far. I'm 3/4 through it and it has been a page-turner. I don't often find books that are compelling enough for me to read hour after hour after hour, but this one has. Great stuff so far. Posted Image
