I'm figuring if I'm going to be a superhero who battles world crime, I'd better do some reserch. therefor I am now reading The Dogs In Riga by Henning Mankel. would have read it in swedish, but my mom on had it in norwegian. not worht the hassle to get it in it's original language then.

Just finished Song of Kali by Dan Simmons. Enjoyed the book, BUT (despite the overuse of 'chilling', 'most frightening'& 'terrifying' in the blurbs on the back) I was about as frightening to me as one of the more dull episodes of the Smurfs I watched as a little Duiker.

@Rane/ i agree CC is the best Al R book ( apart from Diamond Dogs novella ).
Just finished "Godd Omens" Neil Gaiman and ahem TP. Very Good. Reading a few more Gaiman short stories, and considering the next saga to tackle...after "Light Ages" will speculativbe fiction ever be the same.
Where did the other Reading site go ?

@First. What like "the Hominid" trilogy ? Maybe. Baxters short story collection "Vacuum Diagrams" is far more palatable.

u cudn't get into the start of assassin's apprentice? trust me, give it another go, it speeds up. they are pure good!
and i finished fool's fate yesterday - spent 12 hours sat around reading - twas great! i hate finishing a good book though...
and now i dont hvae time to read any more for a while coz i have exams and too much coursework lol. bah humbug.

Spent £70 quid on books yesterday, including Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, but Waterstones were doing 3 for 2, so got "Love all the people", a collection Bill Hicks routines, and I'm reading that now. Very intelligent bloke

Hmm, well this is the first of Rushdie's books I've got around to trying so I'll get to the rest of his work later...still, one can admire his mastery in this work without a shadow of a doubt, his command of the language glares througout the elegantly flowing lyricism of the writing...beautiful, just beautiful.
