Finished Angels and Demons.
It was fast paced I'll give it that.
Outside of that it was an average enough 'thriller', like Mask of Troy the book is seriously undermined by the Author whacking himself off over his own historical "knowledge" on every single page

Just don't read THE LOST SYMBOL or INFERNO....your distaste for the author will only multiply. Both books I wanted to throw against the wall.
...or DIGITAL FORTRESS, ...or DECEPTION POINT....
I....I liked DECEPTION POINT. I can't explain why.
No.
You can't.
You never will.
We'll just file this next to the Bacherlorette, Downton Abby, and Taylor Swift things.

Angels and Demons is his best book.
Agreed. DA VINCI CODE, for all the hype, is way weaker when read after ANGELS.

I'll say this. I prefer the subject matter of DAVINCI CODE over ANGELS....but I've always loved biblical era conspiracy theory stuff...bloodlines, Templars ect. It's fluffy and inaccurate bullshit to a high degree, but enjoyable for that very fact with me.
For the "modern thriller" portion of ANGELS, it's inarguably better tho.

DVC has a larger scope of plot, but Angels has better pacing.

Accurate.
Possibly... I would argue the Vatican plot in ANGELS is more relevant/interesting than the Jesus plot in CODE.

The best part of Angels & Demons, IIRC, is giving the albino dude a POV up front where he's like "Wow, this mysterious thing I've stolen -- I refuse to name it, even though these are my private thoughts given the omniscient narration -- but I sure think it may have some impact on the plot later!"

Something I didn't even notice initially, but yes this stand out a mile in hindsight. It's TERRIBLE writing.

I get my copy Thursday. The 48 tennis balls I ordered for the dog to run after arrive Wednesday. This is probably the correct order of priorities now that I think about it.

Atleast I think I’m supposed to start SW now from the forum order right?
Pretty sure you should be reading OST, since it directly follows up on most of TtH's dangling threads.
Edit: Oh, but if you haven't read SW yet, yeah, that should come first.

"Here is light. You will say that it is not a living entity, but you miss the point that it is more, not less. Without occupying space, it fills the universe. It nourishes everything, yet itself feeds upon destruction. We claim to control it, but does it not perhaps cultivate us as a source of food? May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

the DaVinci Code was a pretty mediocre book at best, but it got a lot of people into reading that otherwise never read anything. So for that alone it deserves praise I think.
