Reading R. Scott Bakker's Warrior-Prophet. Very good story intermingled with some profound stuff.

Heard Amazon.co.uk is releasing the trilogy's finale, Thousandfold Thought already in februari. If so, oh joy.

Ah, have you read any of his other books? I think they're all pretty good, though Gridlocked (possibly just Gridlock?:Erm: ) is certainly the best of the lot:)

Was dissapointed with Warrior Prophet, tbh. I read the first chapter or so, then put it aside for A Feast for Crows... Now on a break from that, read Fishin' with Grandma Matchie (vague review) and now onto Adam Robert's "Stone"

I'm reading "The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman. A classic I never got around to reading (mainly bcs I prefer fantasy to SF). Pretty good so far.

OK, I think I got it, but just in case, can you say the whole thing over again? I wasn't really listening.

Currently reading Rubicon by Tom Holland. You know, it feels weird coming back here after being away so long, I just don't know what is going on. Recognise a few old names but feel like a newb...and I don't like it...

Finished it today. I really enjoyed it despite some of the fairly... interesting theology on the whole conept of heaven.

Some of it was a bit garbled, making it a bit hard to follow, but on the whole a fairly original idea, and a pleasant read.

Currently reading Steven Pressfield - Tides of War.

Two brilliant books. I think Catch-22 is one of my favourite books, it is laugh out loud funny in parts. The follow up Closing Time is a bit hit and miss and doesn't capture the imagination in the same way C22 still does.

Just finished If on a Winter's night a traveller by Italo Calvino, have to say it was an excellent read and I would highly recommend it to anyone on this forum.

Started Infinite Jest by David Foster Wallace, it's a behemoth of a book! But so far so good IMHO

Just finished Tides of War by Steven Pressfield. Very dissapointing, considering how good Gates of Fire was, I thought...

Gonna start reading Pride of Carthage by David Anthony Durham this evening. By all accounts tis a good read.

After I let my friend borrow MOI and HOC, he 'accidentally' (drunkenly) left them by an open window during a three-day rainstorm. To make up for it, he gave me his copy of A Feast For Crows. I'm considering legal action.

Yesterday I finished the brilliant Veniss Underground by Jeff Vandermeer, a great writer with a brilliant imagination. I still have his collection Secret Life lined up for reading early next year.
