Well, King did do a rewrite of sorts for The Gunslinger and changed some stuff around to better fit with the later books as book one and 2 have about a 15 year differance in style between them. That said I love that series, it's worth a read.
Right now I'm reading one of the X-Wing books.

After finishing The Eyes of the Overworld, I decided to put down Tales of the Dying Earth for a little while and read Pratchett and Gaiman's Good Omens.

Its between Anansi Boys and The Warrior Prophet. Likely to be the former, Gaiman is an author for all occasions;)

You really should try reading something else for a change.
I just finished Shooting History by Jon Snow (pretty good) and Lunar Park by Bret Easton Ellis (alright).
Now reading Espedair Street by Iain Banks.

Finished Espedair Street (one of banks' best) and Dead Air (one of banks' worst).
Also finished In the Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami, which was okish.
Now probably going to start on The Business by Banks or The Drowned World by Ballard.
