Ugh, now that was just in time, I was about to read it.. Phew. Any reviews without spoilers out there?

Anyway, I just finished A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki and I loved it. It's wonderful, and I'll have to reread it at some point because all the Schrödinger's cat and multiple worlds stuff went a bit over my head, I'm afraid, and felt a bit tacked on, but that may be because I read through it really fast. A book I shall be keeping and rereading, though.

I didn't read the review but I can't believe that Pat gave the book a 5/10. For him to give it below a 7, he must have really not liked it.

Absolutely LOVING Forge of Darkness at the moment. I know TCG was quite divisive & put a lot of people off SE. FoD seem to be a "return to form" if you like & is reminding me why I love SE so much. And I liked TCG, but it was really hard work! I think that I will enjoy this reread immensely.

Re: The Scott Lynch argument. I don't really care what the reviewers say, I'll be buying it regardless...

Finished up Republic of Thieves and well don't want to say it but Pats review above hits most of the important parts, strong start and then not much to write home about.

Easily on of the weaker new book I've read this year

Still gonna have to pick it up and judge for myself, but I was hoping for a bit of a return to form. Maybe not that surprising given he seems to have had a hard time while writing it.

Just finished Ex-Heroes.

Great blend of genres; Watchmen crossed with.. Walking Dead? But with extra Zzzap.

Anyhoo, really enjoyed it, cheers 'Byss for the recommendation!

Not worth a spoiler really, but best bit.. couple of heroes on patrol, comparing which ex-celebrities they've killed. Made me laugh anyway.

Yeah I read one of his reviews once and it was full of spoilers.... Not really sure why a review needs to have spoilers.

It would appear as if Anthony Ryan's BLOOD SONG threw me into an unexpected Book Hangover, as I've tried to get into both KINSLAYER by Kristoff, and even THE CRYSTAL SHARD by Salvatore (for light fluff fantasy fare) and nada.

Hmmm...choosing a book to remedy this is going to be difficult.
