Hey guys. There's a sentence on page 72.
"Most of the eels pulled aboard were snags."
What does "snag" mean here?

"Snag" in this case refers to something sharp being caught on something else (you might "snag" your sweater on a nail, for instance). These eels are being snagged -- caught by hook rather than by net -- therefore the eels are "snags" in informal parlance.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.
