A couple of days later I'm calmer, and here's my specific thought about that game.
- Wrobleski should have been thrown out of the game. Full stop. He hit Gimenez TWO TIMES in a row...and then acted all tough and shit when Gimenez said "Get it over the plate next time"...I'm glad the dugouts cleared and the Jays backed him....but I feel the umpires should have thrown him out of the game. It's Game 7 of the World Series, and you're acting like a child...grow the hell up you mulleted prick.
- Smith lifted his goddamn foot off home base...I realize it's a tiny thing...but it's a valid complaint....Should IKF have had a better lead off third? Sure, but the Jays had been burned like 6 times in the series by early leadoffs leading to errors so you can see why he didn't want to fuck up.
- The wedged Game 6 ball has precedent as "live" from a game in 2008 where the umpire called it playable since they could grab it and play it....that this one was deemed dead as if he should not have grabbed it....is stupid...since he literally grabbed it and played it in a few seconds later.
- Ohtani getting extra time between his batting stints and pitching was bullshit that would not have flown for anyone else...
- The only Dodger I have any respect for is Yoshonibu Yamamoto...that man is a machine and one of the best pitchers in the league. If he had not played Game 7, the Dodgers would never have won. They are LUCKY they have that guy.
- The Dodgers then took a photo on the filed with the trophy and the caption on their official social media was "They still not like us".....like you have to be petty and twist that knife you arrogant clowns? I wanna say the Jays took the reigning champions (who spend like 4 times as much money as the Jays do) to extra innings of Game 7....crowing about it like you swept them is even more deeply petty.
I'm crushed, but there is still next year. I DO kind of hope there is a strike and lockout though...I want the Dodgers brought low and not win next year.....I will hate them for the rest of my life, warranted or not. Like I remember being upset when the KC Royals beat the Jays in the ALCS (in 2015 I think?) but I didn't actively hate them...I just felt they bested us....but the Dodgers? Hate them.
