Gonna clear some shelf space by giving away 7 books by John Gwynne: the complete The Faithful and the Fallen series (4 books) and its sequel series Of Blood and Bone (3 books). All fatty trade paperbacks, all read once by me and in otherwise good condition.

How this works is: if you're in the continental U.S. only (sorry), and I can see your posts, just post a reply in this thread. At the end of the month (so like February 1), I'll just select someone at random (like names in a hat type of random). I'll pack em up and ship them to you, on my dime. You just gotta be comfortable giving me your mailing address and whatever name works for you. For all intents and purposes, this isn't a raffle or any kind of gambling, just a fun way for me to gift these books to someone.

Separate from that, and very briefly, I just want to mention the Southern California fires -- I'm far away enough to not be in any harm's way (special thanks to the homies who've asked), but have family and friends who have been evacuated, and know of one lost home. If you've seen aerial footage of Pasadena or Altadena then you know that large swathes have been devastated and even some neighborhoods erased. The people I know personally are all safe though, so I can tell you that.

Anyway, if you are anywhere on Earth and want to give something, this link will take you to a list of worthy recipients, organized by category (no direct GoFundMe's here, but near the bottom there's some links to other organized resources for that, if you prefer):
https://www.kqed.org...es-where-donate

To be clear, that's completely optional and understandable if you can't give $ at this time. Just thought I'd mention it where I might have your attention. Regardless, don't be shy about saying you want the books, cuz I'm giving them away to somebody. It might as well be you!

They came with white hands and left with red hands.

I've heard decent things about the books and have shelf space, but I don't know if Indiana's postal service will work anymore with our new Trumpian governor. We might be like The Postman landscape soon.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....
