I’ve heard about brown sauce online enough times that I wanted to try it. I’ve got a bottle on the way and don’t know what to do with it exactly. Eat it in things obviously, but what specifically? Thanks! Also it seemed HP is the preferred brand, is this true or should I have gotten a different one?

Traditionally you have it with a full English breakfast, but some people put it on meat pies as well. Personally, I'm not a fan (being a Dutchman), but my English wife and her dad swear by it. And HP sauce is indeed the only proper brand brown sauce, the rest are imitations.

It is a condiment, so you use it like ketchup.

It’s good with chips or eggs.

It's usually had with breakfast (sausages) but in terms of general usage, it's best considered a ketchup alternative.

It's all about going with the sausages.

It's pretty good with nice bacon on soft white bread. A bacon butty if you will (other regional versions of the term "butty" are available. "Bap" is acceptable as is "sarnie" but never "barmcake")

I had my brown sauce. It’s like sweet A1. I liked it. Now I have to go watch Peaky Blinders.

Yes! This is the best forum advice ever requested. Glad you liked the ole Houses of Parliament sauce RLY. Tiste has advised the best way to eat it and now I need a bacon butty.

I need to buy some bacon I guess, if that’s the best way. It was good on eggs and sausages. Not too hard to convince me to eat some bacon.
