I have read only Stones of POwer series by David Gemmell.
Ghost King
Last Sword of POwer
Wold in Shadow (Jerusalem Man)
The Last Guardian
Bloodstine

I think the first 2 are somewhat weak but a nice introduction to other 3 books, I liked the last 3 very much. John Shannow? not sure if I remember correctly the name of the main char, is a very interesting guy. I would recommend to read these books.

I would suggest Legend as well as everyone else. I don't think Gemell is a shallow writer, if you pay attention to his books especially the Drenai series. After reading them all you see how the characters link together and the level of continuity is amazing.

but not in the Stones of Power. Definetely not in the last three books :p

I think there are 1 or 2 more books in the Stones of Power series that based on greek history but I have never read them because I do not like to read fantasy which is a re-make of historical events.
