Hello everyone. I'm working on a malazan mod for Rome Total War Remastered set on the continent of Genabackis and wanted to ask you for a couple of advice. Based on the books I've read so far (10/10 MBotF, First of the Witness Trilogy and NoK) I've been trying to name as many regions/cities as possible, but there are still many that have placeholder names. So if any of you know any other names or have any suggestions I'd appreciate it.

Similarly, for cultures, in the vanilla game you can have 6(+1) cultures. The ones I had thought of are: malazan, barghast, rhivi ,moranth, nathii(northern genabackis) and genabackan(southern genabackis). For the last two I'm not entirely convinced about using nathii and genabackan. What do you think?

I have also added quotes from the books. Mainly related to the mod's setting (so from GotM, MoI, HoC) but also from other books, like Kellanved's quotes to give an example. Let me know if you have any that you think would fit (possibly spoiler-free).

And of course if you have any questions I will be happy to answer them!

I don't know much about the requirements for the game, but you could name some of those placeholders after geographical features.

SettlementF_Region = Tarthen Range
SettlementR_Region = Free City Plain
SettlementV_Region = Stannis Plain
etc

If you don't want to use Nathii, you could replace it with the Free Cities. And just south of the map you've got the Daru and Gadrobi people of the Darujhistan region, not to mention the Seguleh as a possible wildcard.

There are no particular restrictions/requirements for names and Tharten Range and Free City Plain are good suggestions. I also noted that Stannis Plain is in but in the wrong spot Posted Image. I will fix it.
Regarding Seguleh-Daru-Gadobri, the thing is that the map stops at Pale so I don't know how correct it would be to use them.To give a more detailed context, the playable "non-Barbarian" factions of Genabackis are: Greydog, Blackdog, Owndos, Cajale, Nistt, Apple, One Eye Cat, Bear, Cruck, Mistral, Pale and Shand.
In the 'North' group I wanted to put Greydog, Blackdog, Owndos, Cajale, Nistt, One Eye Cat, Bear.
In the 'South' group, Apple, Mistral, Cruk, Pale and Shand.

Alternatively I could always unite all of them under Free Cities, that way when you play as one of them and conquer a settlement of the other factions you won't get cultural malus as they are all part of the same group.

Hello. Regarding cultures, I have solved my doubt. Nistt, One Eye Cat, Apple, Pale and Cajale will be in the "Free Cities" cultural group, while the remaining factions will be in the 'Genabackan' group.In addition, I will rename the regions Barghast_rangeS, Barghast_rangeM ,Barghast_rangeN, Barghast_Land, Barghast_Land b, using the Barghast clan names of the White Face (so Senan Camp for the settlement Senan Land for the region etc.) and at least one territory of the Ilgres I can rename with the clan name.

I am now renaming the temples in the vanilla game with the gods/ascendants of the malazan world.

Hello again. I've updated the mod. Among the main changes are the temples which are now dedicated to ascendants such as Oponn, Hood, Burn, Togg etc., renamed 28 regions between names taken from the books and others invented, and renamed the 7 wonders of the world (which give bonuses) into buildings/places inspired by the malazan world.
