Steven Erikson was on the Ten Very Big Books podcast and mentioned he took a few weeks off from Walk in Shadow to begin work on a murder mystery novella (or short novel) starring Flicker from Crack'd Pot Trail (see about the 1:08:00 mark).

Quote

Flicker is the...greatest assassin ever...and the fact that nobody knows about it proves just how great an assassin he is. So it's that kind of a story.

He references the British crime series Midsomer Murders and says:

I've kind of taken that idea of an English estate, an ancestral pile, loaded it up with characters and I'm now proceeding to knock them all off. It's fun.

If there's one thing I have learned from TV, it's that sleepy English villages have a higher murder rate than Medellin at the height of the Escobar era. :apt:

I loved the entire idea of Flicker.
A novella all about him... SOLD.
