Just tuned it, which magnifies the unsettling incongruity. I find this show each E3 can be hit or miss, but I guess that is the point.

Borderlands Science. Meh, played it on Sanctuary III. Couldn't hold my attention for more than a few iterations.

Godfall was a disappointment if I recall. Seems like November 2020 was such a long time ago due to pandemic time warping, so having a difficult time remembering how that game was received.

That's it? Wow, that was terrible.

Uh, Microsoft has got to save this E3, for sure. The hype that has been building up suggests that they are supposed to blow minds. We shall see.

So Microsoft-Bethesda won E3 2021.

Starfield didn't give us much but I guess interviews that followed indicate it is going to be quite ambitious. Read something about it being a Han Solo simulator being tossed around.

Had a personal squeee moment when there was a Psychonaughts trailer. I have never played the original, but my older brother, who isn't really a big gamer, raved about the original, so I want to see what this sequel is up to.

I'm sorta bummed with that Hades coming to Xbox announcement. I'm guessing that means it won't be coming to PlayStation any time soon? I want to play Hades, as it seems to resoundly be considered one of the best games from last year.

Halo Infinite looks better. But was that more cinematic type footage? I want to see game play.

Diablo II remake looked really cool. Doubt I'll play it though.

Plague Tale Requiem. I really want to play the first one. Seems to be one of those titles that flew under the radar but is supposed to be a really good game.

For me, my favorite was Atomic Heart. Damn that game looks bizarre, but in a really good way. I get Bioshock vibes off it.

Forza Horizon 5 looked really slick. I think this is the game that won the best of the show award at that award show deal that wrapped up this E3. I played the first Forza Horizon game on Xbox 360 and really enjoyed it. Might have to try this one out. I like driving games okay enough I guess, but they aren't my go to when I think about a video game purchase.

And I guess we have to talk about Redfall. Thoughts? Looks pretty cool. Want to see more

On the whole though this E3 was an emphatic 'meh' from my perspective. I guess that was sort of expected, considering. And I think without the pandemic, the event was diminishing anyway.

I'm gonna need to see how Redfall plays solo. There's a lot ofinteresting weirdness Arcane can pull off with an open world shooter with powers. And Arkane and Eidos Montreal are probably the best level designers in the biz right now.

The fact that my preciousssssss S.T.A.L.K.E.R.2 and Atomic Heart are both gonna be Day 1 GamePass games is insane. Maybe this new Windows 11 will actually make Windows store games play nice and I'll sign up for GamePass finally.
That "Replaced" game looked pretty sick.

A few of indie games on my wish- and watch-lists got updates, release dates, new trailers, or just Steam Pages. Pretty good updates overall.

Biggest brand-new thing for me came from the PC Gaming show:

It's got "Souls" in the title, but it's actually an action/adventure game ala DMC and Darksiders. Looks pretty sweet.

Microsoft owned it. Ubi was a snore, and Squeeeenix.... eh.
They're going all Mass Effect-y with Guardians of the Galaxy, which is a better choice than what Avengers did, at least; I'm not familiar with the source material, though, so I've got no investment in this game. Just.... get it done and get back to what matters (Deus Ex).

Devolver had a great and hilarious show as always.
-no Shadow Warrior release date- BOO
-release Date for Death's Door- YAY
-DDCU maybe non-canon, and "was it all just a dream?' - *confused puzzled noises*

Let's see what the rumoured Sony Event brings. Plus, EA might still show something cool, maybe? Gameplay for DA4 and Fallen Order 2, along with the next Command&Conquer remaster would be enough to "win" the Summer Announcements Season Competition ™

Oh, and Microsoft's bestest announcement was the stealth update to the store pages for the new Age of Empires II Expansion pack. They updated the page to reveal the new Civs- The Poles and Bohemians. So my dream of having an official campaign for the Hussite Wars came true; and We are also getting a long-overdue Lithuanian Campaign.

AoE4 is looking mighty sweet, too. Still on the fence about buying it, tho, but I might, just to get the AoEII Expac for free, :)

Microsoft's "Available day 1 on Game Pass" became the meme of E3. If they execute on that the way they are hyping it up, it will be impressive. I'm in a wait and see footing though. I'm particulary interested in the ability to play games without a console and instead on a supported device - eg smart tv that comes bundled with it? like Netflix?

I forgot how godawful cheesy the voice acting is in Square Enix games are, particularly the Final Fantasy games. The Babylon's Fall game sill has life. Wasn't that teased like three E3s ago?

Even though Microsoft won E3 (not really a diffuclt task, considering the other presentations) their event didn't quite live up to the hype that was building leading up to E3, but they were still impressive.

Babylon's Fall is a co-op looter now. Eeeeeehh

Microsoft is going all in with streaming-they should have Xbox Series Xs running in all their streaming servers by the end of the year.
Phones, Smart TVs, PCs... they're coming everywhere (except PlayStations)

Remembering back on the Square Enix show, during the presentation where they introduced the Guardians of the Galaxy game didn't that dude who does those BattleCudgel 80K books make an appearance? Is his name Dave Nabitt? Does that mean he is the creative behind the story for the game?

Dane Abbnett, I think?

Not sure if he's involved with the story (EM's narrative director, Mary DeMarle was also in the interview), or if he's working with Marvel to write GotG comics.

Some of the comic specialists in Other Lit thread could probably answer that better.

Sony just said "hold my beer, I've got something to show you" to E3.

It was a good-looking show, that literally had 2 new announcements (the KOTOR remake that's been heavily rumoured since around the time Aspyr got bought by Embracer earlier this year; and Wolverine)

Cool-looking games, for sure. But more would've been nice.
