Confused about Hedge

So what was Hedge’s purpose during RG? He does mention he was aiming to find Starvald Demelain....but why though? Does it have to do with more info revealed in later books? I just don’t really get what he was searching or aiming to do in this book.

Off the top of my head, he didn't really have that much of a goal to begin with. More of a "well I'm a lost ghost, might as well go on a journey and blow stuff up 'cause that's what I like doing" sort of thing.

Nada. He wandered off after events in Raraku and found his way to a death warren where he ended up hanging out with Paran. From there he found the Refugium and ended up coming back to life.
Fair bet the Spiritwalker's song and other magics aspecting the Bridgeburners drew him to where Quick Ben would need some help.
