And realistically the only Tech objective that this helps people score is the 2 in 4 colors. All of us will be able to do the 3 unit upgrade one without this. So you protecting against an 1 objective that might or might not happen to matter is kinda strange. If this goes bad it doesnt really hurt you at all.

In a game where the goal is to win by accumulating the most points, making the choice between [nothing happens] and [the player with the most points and best position to accumulate more points gets set back a bit] shouldn't require the rest of the table to incentivize you. You're only hurting yourself.

2 techs is just the consolation, and everyone gets them so it's not a particular advantage. It's the artifact exploding that we want, and you should too.
