Mentak are definitely geared towards that sort of win - start without much tools and only one carrier, you gotta wheel and deal and find whatever way you can to catch up, get the expensive good tools like mirror computing, and then jump ahead. It was certainly super close!

The combination of that many planets, minimal competition, and that agenda made it almost a forgone conclusion, if some of the easier 2VP objectives had been drawn she might have struggled to catch up, both twelve and I could have won last turn if a scorable 2VP objective had shown up, but the longer the game went on it was always swinging in D'reks direction.

9 points! Can't quite believe I got that far after the annihalation of my fleet.

The game would probably have been over sooner if my fleet hadn't been eliminated, I was set up to win with just 1VP objectives, imperials points and SOs. Saar are the opposite of the mentak, big start then limp over the finish line. One more turn holding rex would have set me up well.

And choosing last round to be the round I tried for my SO.

I don't think you can ever really call a 10-9-9-8-8 final game a "foregone conclusion" It was neck-and-neck in the second last round, I think one different PO or SO draw for any player could have swung things differently.

That was fun! Congrats D'rek on your win. I wouldn't have expected it to be possible, but then I knew what sort of objectives were going to come up. If anything I am very impressed that Blend stayed in contention for the win even though we didn't draw a single tech objective.

Thanks to you all for the game. I was susprised that I enjoyed the modding as much as I did, but it did take a lot more time than I expected.

Not much movement in the stats, major movers:

Muaat no longer the worst race jumping up 3 spaces, the worst race statistically in our games is now Xxcha.

This was our closest game to date with a 2 point difference between first and last.
