So....

So so so

My lady wants to do a games night, like mafia, secret Hitler, hell maybe a murder mystery.

Obviously, given its 2020 and the world is a shit show this can't be a night of drinks and snacks at our house.

We're going to Zoom it in.

Questions, how best to set up such a night? The zoom is fine, but how would a game of mafia run over it? Same goes for Secret Hitler. Could a murder mystery evening be incorporated as an overall theme?

Thoughts?

I've played secret hitler online using this website and it worked well.

Also if you've played codenames there is a website for that which works well

Horsepaste.Com

The jackbox party games also work relatively well online over zoom.

I'm sure there must be an online mafia website but I don't know of one.

Yep pretty much. It works better if they are on a laptop or tablet.

One of my friends keeps raving about how good a murder mystery was over zoom. They all dressed up as their characters and stuff.

So we've decided on next Saturday night.

This weekend I'm going to sit down for a half hour and work out how to set up:
secret Hitler (will look into that website a bit more)
Mafia (think I have a way to text message this in)
And going to look into codenames as well.

I see it being a bit of a disaster first-time through but it is what it is.

I'm struggling to think of a way for killers to communicate in mafia.

I'm happy with our plan that a "screen" will be one player in secret Hitler, but I figure 7/8 player mafia is nowhere near as good as 14/15 player (mostly couples joining us on zoom)

If they play as couples, per screen, it's just turn off screens for night and text me in choices etc.
But if everyone is playing individually how do paired killers talk? How do they suit a kill?
How does the doctor or cop submit?
