Hey guys. English is not my native language, so I'm having some difficulty reading the series. Anyway, in the third book (page 77) there's a sentence I didn't understand. Two Malazan soldiers (Picker and Blend) are talking with a travelling merchant. They want to buy a torc. They ask him the price. He tells them. Picker turns to Blend and says these:
"My heart weeps," Picker said. She glanced over at Blend. "Who'll miss it?"
The soldier shrugged.
"Rustle up three columns, then."
I don't understand the "who'll miss it?" part. What does Picker mean with this? Who will miss what? Can someone enlighten me please?
