Hey guys,
So I'm on my first re-read and up to Toll the Hounds and Vorcan has just been somewhat reintroduced. What do we actually know about her? Is she human? How old is she? Raest refers to her as "a demon in truth". Is that meant literally, or a character assessment? She's always confused me.

Also, I'm fine with spoilers from later books. I've read all of Erikson and Esslemont so they won't be spoilers for me, just reminders.

Thanks in advance 👍

I believe her daughter in RotCG is referred to as half-demon, which would certainly suggest she's demonic, if that helps.

Also in TtHs, Raest calls her 'a demon in truth,' which seems pretty conclusive.

So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

That's fair enough then haha. How does she, Baruk and the others of the T'orrud Cabal relate to the Tyrant again?

It's been a while since I read the relevant passages, but my understanding was that the T'orrud Cabal were the OG followers/servants/change-makers of the Tyrant back in his day, and maybe not entirely human. The wiki described them as "undying, secretive, paranoid mages steeling themselves for the Tyrant's inevitable return." When Baruk gets transformed into that weird clawed creature (Barukanal) - I'm not sure if it's ever mentioned if that's his real form, or some form he gets transformed into for punishment.

There's a dude who apparently works for the same employer I do whose last name is "McAnally." I know this from his file.
Laseen did nothing wrong.

I demand Telorast & Curdle plushies.
