Kallor....Korlat....Orfantal....timelines Kharkanass spoilers

So I've just been reading the scene where Whiskyjack and Humbraul Taurus arrive on the barges and converse with Brood, Korlat, Kallor and Orfantal.
Several things mentioned from Korlat's POV don't quite gel with what we know from the Kharkanass series, so far.
The 14 000 year relationship with Rake, Orfantal several times referring to how old Kallor is..... a bit inconsistent with the dates from Kharkanass.
I know a running theme is the time lines aren't important but, still. And that a 14 000 year working relationship doesn't necessarily mean that's how old she is, but it doesn't have the feel that it was all planned out....
Just not sure about all this.
Or maybe Kallor will turn out to actually be the High King refered to.

You might have wanted to post this thread in the Kharkanas forums or maybe the general book forum. We're not supposed to discuss later books in the early book threads to avoid spoiling new readers.
A page nr. would also help to refreshen the Memory.

Judging by my post above I'm assuming you didn't post this in the general topic forum originally and a mod moved it. Maybe you posted this in the Memories of Ice forum first?
I haven't read the second Kharkanas book yet but there was definitely a mystery surrounding the unknown High King the Azathanai speak about.

This is not resolved (or discussed) in Fall of Light as far as I recall.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

First of all, the timeline is not important.
Second, in-universe they may remember something a certain way but actually be mistaken. IRL research suggests that our own memories are not as reliable as we'd like to think, and our lives are a mere fraction of the length the ascendants in the Malazan universe have lived.

Laseen did nothing wrong.
