I got into Baseball over the summer, and I was wondering if anyone on here likes Baseball, and if you did, what team you liked... I know Rodeo likes it.
The good news is that my team, The Angels, beat the Yankees this week, to go into the playoffs against the White Sox... unfortunately, Colon, their star pitcher has been injured, so who knows what may happen...
Any comments, or other angels fans etc? Just post em here!

I actually have a friend who plays baseball (which is VERY uncommon in Sweden). But I don't understand when he tries to teach me the rules :D

It took me the entire length of an Angels/Atheletics match (about 3 hours solid) to get a grasp of the game... I am getting a lot more into it now... www.mlb.com

Went to a Yankee's game when I was In New York last summer. It was pretty cool. Loved the heckling going on, brilliant! :D

Yeah, :D isn't called the Bronx cheer for nothing.

I enjoy watching the occasional minor league game, don't really follow the majors anymore. And somehow i find watching it on TV incredibly boring...

Oh, baby! Yankees lost! Awesome!

Playoff baseball rules. Last year's playoffs were some of the best I've ever seen.

I'm a Chicago Cubs fan, despite the fact or maybe because of the fact that they suck. They haven't won the World Series since 1908. 1908! Ha!:D

Red Sox fan here.

As for watching, it is tougher if you don't care about either team playing. I think there was some project done recently that timed the amount of filler footage of an average televised baseball game, and it was much longer than footage of the actual game. If you watch enough baseball, you develop a sense of the rhythm and can leave it on in the background while doing other things and still follow it just fine. If you are new to baseball and try to watch it like a movie - feasting your eyes on every spit & scratch, you'll fall asleep rather quick... especially if you don't give a damn about who wins. Or, it can be worse. (See Cubs fans)

We'll do it. Someday. Hopefully before I die.:D

I desperately want to see a ball game on some hot summer day at Wrigley Field. That would be just too damn cool.

I used to love playing rounders at school, and for a place I worked at a few years ago. A good civilised sport.
These days softball is becoming more popular. Recently our cricket pitch was double booked with some chumps throwing this giant white ball around. And down Hyde Park after work us footballers are competing for space with giant squads of wannabe baseball players who can't throw properly.
Must be good fun if this many people want to play. Or maybe its just a fad.

Congratulation Tiste on discovering baseball. It can become very addictive so be careful. Too bad the Angels didn't go farther but right now it looks like Boston will feast on the Rockies.
