Hey guys. There's a part in Book #2 I'm having a hard time with. Mappo and Rellock are talking. Rellock is obviously distraught. After the conversation, Mappo returns to his bedroll. Here's the last paragraph of that part:

The Trell watched him finish laying out the bedroll. Mappo rose and headed to where he'd left his sack. "We learn no place safe." Whatever sea god looks down on you, old man, must surely fix an eye on his lost child now.

I couldn't figure out the last sentence. Is Mappo referring to Apsalar or her father when he says "lost child"? Also, does he want a sea god to take care of that person? Can someone expain please? Thank you.

It's figurative, not literal.
Rellock was a fisherman, so in theory he worships a sea god and in turn is that god's 'child'.
He's lost in that he's stuck in events beyond his understanding, manipulated by other gods (Shadow, the forces around the Path of Hands, the Whirlwind, etc).
