Man I'm still reading the sequels to Senlin Ascends. Apparently there will be four in total with three out now so I'm a bit miffed that it isn't finished haha.

As for recommendations I dunno. I recently picked up the audiobook of Infinite Jest but it's massive so probably not a good recommendation... I'll have a think...

Terry Goodkinds: Wizard's First Rule!

Or maybe HP Lovecraft: At the Mountains of Madness. I begun it once but never finished it.

We could read Beyond Redemption by Michael R Fletcher that Tatterdemalion is recommending.

Or Gods of Jade and Shadow: A wildly imaginative historical fantasy by Silvia Moreno-Garcia that Pat was recommending a while ago. It's 7 euro on Amazon.

Beyond Redemption was a little too grimdark-look-at-me-and-my-grimdarkness for my taste. God's of Jade and Shadow sounds neat.

I am cheating and just finished the first chapter. Just like that Nigerian Godhunter book that came out earlier this year, it's interesting to read a book set in an unfamiliar setting, with an unfamiliar vocabulary.

But I'm already ready for the book to get past the Cinderella beginning and get on with the mystical Mayan stuff.

I saw it and thought it was interesting so I purchased it.

Not sure how this little book club works, but I expect to start it this week.

Are we meant to recognize who Lorey is? He's got a green theme going, owns a talking Raven and is styled as a hunter I'm assuming he's from some European pantheon.

120 pages in. I'm starting to suspect this is secretly a love story.
