Loved The Cars. Saw them in concert twice way back when. Still listen to them.
Ocasek was a rock classic.

They say he was "found unresponsive" which is normally media-speak for something like an OD....but rumour has it that it was supposedly "natural"....but unless he was ill, then dying at 75 isn't "natural"

I only know like 2 Cars songs, but I like them.

RIP Music Skeletor.

75 is well within the limits of age related natural causes. Average life span means that there are people who have to fall short of the median.

You have to define "age related natural causes" here, because most definitions of this would be the "unless he was ill" I spoke about.

And as far as I'm aware, the legal definition of "old age" doesn't even begin until 75...so claiming that's some sort of life expectancy in 2019 is a bit off the mark.

Didn't mean to derail the thread but the average life expectancy is 78 in Denmark, 80 in Canada. 75 is old. Age is an illness that can take you out any time it wants. Your heart can stop, blood vessels burst, the older you get the bigger the chance something just stops working.

That's natural causes.

I mean this in the best way possible (ie overindulgence), but I vividly remember the "You Might Think" video being the first music video I ever got sick of. Must have watched that thing more than "Money For Nothing" and "Sledgehammer" combined. Anyway, yah, Ric Ocasek and The Cars are legends.

I liked quite a few Cars songs. They dominated early MTV.

Not to derail the thread, but we also lost Eddy Money last Friday the 13th. Really liked a lot of his songs too. Take Me Home Tonight was one of those songs I don't think i ever turned off. Despite how often it got played. There aren't many very popular/overplayed songs I can say that about.

Rumor has it these "occurrences" happen in 3s. Another one coming?

Ric was the third after Daniel Johnston and Money.

Oh I see. I'm not familiar with Daniel Johnston.

That's okay. I don't think it's gonna be limited to three anyway.
