I know Erikson likes wordplay, so I wonder if Neret Sorr --> Soranas --> Saranas?
We know that it is the capital of the Liosan when Kallor visits and lets them know that Serap is dead. Just curious if there's a connection.

Does Neret Sorr turn into Saranas?

Possibly. Very likely. They may have renamed it in the meantime, even, to reflect that it has grown from a Lord's home and a hamlet/town to a properly sized city like Kharkanas after the schism between the Andii and Liosan?

Yeah, I was thinking that the /-anas/ suffix is for capital cities (e.g. Khark-anas) and perhaps the transformation goes /Neret Sorr/ to /Sorr-anas/ to /Soranas/ to /Saranas/ perhaps?
Abnegation.
