At that point they know precisely nothing about him.
By the time we see the end of his story in TCG and elsewhere (ie:STONEWIELDER), they've had plenty of time to learn who and what he is and what is being done to him by the other gods.
Also, when we really see the CG at work in MoI, the Pannion Domin has been working its way up Genabackis for a long time. Similarly, D'rek didn't just decide to wipe out its priesthood, the process of the cult being undermined by the CG had been going on for a long time, starting when we see Tays exiled, and culminating in Kartool. Same could be said for the CG's efforts in 7C (getting agents into the Whirlwind) and Leth (arranging for the sword that was supposed to go to the Warlock King).
So the approximate time period of roughly 100 years between REACH and GotM would make sense for as many long term plans as we see develop.

Interesting. Could this be the reason that Kell and Dancer tried to expand the empire to Seven Cities, Genebackis and Korel (pretty much encountering failure everywhere except the seven cities). Perhaps the initial response to the CG threat was to wipe out the the influence of the Crippled God. As shown in MOI, the Crippled God was capable of building very formidable alliances in exchange for empowering his partners with chaos riven warren magic of some sort.
Maybe the Azath favored Kell so as to fight back the infection caused by the Crippled God.

I think from the maps they just reached in every direction to expand: north (Falar) East (Genabackis) West (Seven Cities) and South (Korel). Doesn't really seem all that organized to me.
Did the Azath favor Kell? How would that help? From what I could tell all they did was manipulate Icarium.
And as of now he has used the Azath House basically never, despite the rumors that they would be spending time there.
