I just now am beginning Midnight Tides. I am just wondering how many years are we prior to where we are in House of Chains? At least I am assuming we are jumping back to a time prior to the events in HoC.

If I remember right MT took place about 4-5 years before the events in Gardens of the Moon.

SB I think your off work on your book. It is just after Gardens of the Moon and at the same time as Deadhouse Gates.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

OK, looking at the timeline on the wiki.

-A bunch of stuff I deleted because worry is right and I’m a dumbass.

So definitely not 4-5 years before, but the same time as parts of gotm and dg.

SB that's a lotta book specifics for a thread where the OP just started it!

Okay, so MT is a few years before the events (involving Trull Sengar) in House of Chains then and roughly about the same time as what is going on in Deadhouse Gates?

Pretty sure it's this:

1159 BS - Midnight Tides Prologue with Withal
1161 - 1162 BS - Midnight Tides main book
1163 BS - Gardens of the Moon
1164 BS - Deadhouse Gates / Memories of Ice / House of Chains

The MT Prologue is identified as both 1159 BS and three years before the Letherii Seventh Closure. The Seventh Closure occurs during MT putting the events of MT over the course of 1161-1162.

I am slowly doing a series re-read and am currently around 250 pages into MT. I have a timeline question.
