Solid prologue. We might get some climate change stuff in addition to the upheaval of the Teblor war efforts.

VERY SOLID.

I like all the references to Karsa's early journey, and the 7C and Teblor connections. Very nice.

"Lead me, Warleader." ....oh yeahhhh.

Also, intrigued at Dayliss' point about Enale rallying the Teblor tribes but not mentioning their impending soggy doom. Subtle/clever, that. As was her point that they flat out cannot defeat the Malazan Empire.

Yeah, I like that they state the impossible odds of taking on the Malazan Empire. It was always a peculiar idea that Karsa would bring down Civilization with a few thousand savages. Durability or not.

Wonder what the plan is then? Ally with the Rhivi? Barghast? Moranth? To what end?

Erm, why does it say Godswalk mountain range, NW Genabackis, when that mountain range is way down south near Coral and Bastion...?

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Why do the Teblor call him the "Shattered God"? He was tattooed after he was captured by the Malazans, correct? How would they know what he looked like?

The Shattered God is another name for The Crippled God, not Karsa.

I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I don't believe it is, based on this excerpt:

“It was not. With my own eyes, I watched Karsa Orlong cut him down. I alone among the Rathyd men survived the attack.”

“I see.”

“Do you?” he asked. “Tell me, where is this Shattered God? Has Karsa Orlong returned to his homeland? Has he come to gather up his blood-kin, his new followers? Has he begun the great war against the children of the south?"

I’m pretty sure Shattered God means Karsa.

They mention his daughters travelling back and forth from Darujhistan, so they know his current status and look.

That's what I was thinking, although it's odd that he would have gained the name "The Shattered God" from his daughters descriptions. Do you think it came from them witnessing his stand for Dragnipur in Darujhistan? Maybe Elade himself as a form of mockery?
