Hello technical support.

A friend has an issue with his apple account. He got a UK account (he is based in Kuwait) and put in nonsensical information to set the account up.

The account's been locked with funds still in there, and he can't do anything to unlock it as he can't recall the security questions.

Is there anything that can be done to unlock this?

"A friend"? Suuuuuuure. ;)

Well he was a twit to do that wasn't he?

I'm no expert but if he created an account with fictitious info, can't recall the security info, and then put money in it ... I'm fairly sure he can kiss that money goodbye.

It's not like Steve from Customer Service or tech Support is going to help someone that can't even verify that they are the account holder.

In other news, here's a shameless plug for my generic tech questions thread:

I hope "your friend" gets an Internet Miracle though.

Nah, it's not me. I don't use Apple stuff at all because I don't trust it.

But yeah I was leaning towards the same outcome, essentially.

Has he tried hacking their GUI interface?

Is this legit? I ask that because I genuinely know jack all about Apple. If so I'll suggest it.

Yes, he'll need to use visual basic to reverse engineer the IP address to get it to work.

Surely there is a recovery email address as well? Why doesn't he just call Apple Support in his local area (https://support.apple.com/)? They must be getting loads of questions like this all the time. Or try: https://iforgot.apple.com.

But at the end of the day, there is a reason that these security features are in place. If anyone who stole an iPad could just work a way around the locking mechanism it wouldn't be much of a security feature.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Yes. But he'll have to hack their core mainframe.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.
