Not that I'm jealous of them or anything but how does this benefit you? Does the agreement work still even if they take your systems? It also does not leave you much wiggle room.

Yes. If they kick me out of somewhere, I can't try to reclaim it. Why did I do it? Well, I was happy enough to do it with Morgoth and Tapper, because the Arborec and Sol seem best-suited to me to defending against Saar - their special abilities to produce GFs makes taking their planets particularly difficult for me, so they would never have been my first-choice directions. The fact that Gnaw is the third is much more problematic for me, yes, at least in the short-term, but I'll just have to deal with it and hope Ixth was worth that trouble.

On the other hand, should I not win Ixth, there's no harm no foul and I just go back to plan A.

Wow, I was not expecting to get that. That was just my default "if I don't get a deal or other reason to change it" provisional. Well, I'll take it. Dunno if I'll really end up using it much, but it's a nice salve to being last/2nd-last to pick strategy card again.

I’m going to build ships in Everra this round. As you pointed out a while back, they’ll be stuck there for the remainder of the round. Thought you were going to take Politics this time?

If your plan is for Gnaw to take LEADERSHIP and hold off on playing it as long as possible to limit Twelve's options, then wouldn't it make more sense for Tatts to take LOGISTICS? Otherwise LOGISTICS is the obvious choice for Twelve to take to counter the delayed LEADERSHIP play.

I’m not really planning that. I need the CTs myself so Leadership will almost certainly be played turn 2. By taking Arinam I limit Twelve to gaining a single CT.
