Couple fell ill over the course of the day, believed to have come in contact with the same nerve agent that was used earlier this year.

That this happens during the world cup has to be some cosmic dice coming up snake eyes.

unless some links in their past are shown I would tag this as more likely linked to the Skripals attack.

interesting how Russian TV made sarcastic remarks BEFORE the Novichok had been named as cause of death as to how Russia would doubtlessly be blamed.

watch the conspiracy nuts descend on this one

Scary stuff. If this is still left over nerve agent from the first attack it shows how dangerous this crap is and why it was a line that should not have been crossed. I mean seriously, a bullet would have done just as well. If it was Russia, I see no reason to doubt it was, I wonder if they will face even further backlash.

You mean to say that Russia might be trying to mess this country up? I'm shocked!

Has anyone checked to see whether it was a nerve agent or they simply ingested normal British cuisine?
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

It was definitely a nerve agent. Of the four people affected, only one has died so far.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

No, more along the lines of "Things aren't going well for May and very suddenly the Russians do something bad!" Seems awfully coincidental. Diversionary, almost.

Given the normal ability of the British government to hide things that should stay hidden (i.e. non-existent), there's no way this was an inside job.

What did happen is that this couple found the bottle that the poison was originally carried in. The woman who died picked it up and got a heavy dose, far more than the Skripals themselves, which is why she died (Novichok has an active lethal life cycle of months). Despite that tragedy, it means the police now have the delivery mechanism so they can start putting together an idea of who carried out the attack and what the precise motive was.

They've done a really good job at hiding their plan unless of course you're suggesting that they never had a plan and are incredibly incompetent and ridiculous??

Of course there is a plan. The plan from the beginning has been to force a complete and total break with the EU, i.e. 'crash out' of the union. However, they know that this would not go down well with a lot of Brits, so they are putting on this big show pretending to work very hard at finding a way to arrange an amicable break with a safe transition period etc, but those evil EU bureaucrats are not cooperating. Keep that up for a couple of years and voila, hard Brexit accomplished. The main frustration is that there is nobody in the opposition that is able (or willing) to stop this evident car crash from happening.

Yeah it's pretty much disaster capitalism plain and simple. And the idiotic gammons just keep shouting about it because they keep believing the lies.
