Malazan book of the races

Have you noticed how each book is somehow connected with a certain race? For example:
GotM - Tiste Andii
MoI - The Tlan Imass
MT - humans (don't ask me why, I know it's mostly about the Edur, but somehow I felt the real center of MT to be around Tehol, Hull and Brys)
Do you feel the same? And if yes, what about the other books?

Well, although I'm not sure it's intentional, you have a point. Although I'd put MT, as you say, with Edur, HoC is Thelomen Toblakai, and DG is probably the most focused on human's as a species.
Like I say, though, it doesn't appear to me to be intentional, it's just the characters he's focusing on at any one time, and in my eyes GotM doesn't really fit the bill for any.

I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

i think youre just picking favourite characters and associating their race with the book, hehe

Erm, will you then explain to me which favourite T'lan Imass of mine am I associating MoI with? @_@ I don't have any Imass that I consider "favourite"... This is an overall feeling I have of the books, not some misplaced affiliation with characters

i hate the imass, them and their scrawny faces....
but still i guess they would have been likeable in their time before the ritual

I think you're being a little too analytical;) A bucket-load of races are in all of the books...

Well, yes... but what I do now is exactly the opposite of analytical, I think
I mean, EVEN though there are so many races in each book, the novels still have some specific feeling...

just because there was a t'lan imass army in moi doesnt mean the book was about the imass, lol, there was a lot more about humans and also the barghast

Or, indeed, considering the title, the Jaghut...

Well, I didn't ask anyone to agree with me, I was just expressing my feelings about the books :/ And I was hoping it could turn into a discussion but if everyone has such a big problem with the topic, just ignore it

*pats Roland's shoulder amically*
Hmm, methinks the different books are more centered (if you can actually call it 'centered' on aything so specific, that is) on familial relationships. This has been brought up in another topic before... let's see... MoI - Mother/children, HoC - Sisters, MT - Brothers... erm... at least three of them fit, phew
Couldn't think of any such connection for GotM or DG though...

Wasn't trying to knock out your theory mate:) after all, theories are what these forums are for;)
When you say "somehow connected" though, its a bit vague;) Any way you can explain more clearly?

Well, no, it's just a feeling, that's why it's vague when I try to explain it. When I think of GotM, the Tiste Andii come to my mind and I don't mean Manny Rake but the Tiste Andii as a whole. The same with MoI and the T'lan Imass...
And btw sorry I acted like a kid.

From an interview with SE...
"...Gardens of the Moon was about good and bad. Deadhouse Gates is about sisters,
Memories of Ice is about motherhood..."
