I find it very suspicious that so many people on here claim to be Canadian but there are no hockey threads to be found. Especially with all the crazy things that have happened this season.
There must be some other people on here that follow hockey, so let's discuss!

Pittsburgh thwomped the Phillies last night 7-0, Crosby gets a hat trick. Really hoping they don't take the cup again.

Vegas is at the top of the league and now up 1-0 over LA, pretty crazy for a expansion team in their first year.

How the Leafs are 100% definitely for sure going to win the stanley cup this year without a doubt.

South-Canadians (Americans) and Overseas-Canadians (Everyone else) are welcome to comment as well.

Pretty neat that the inaugural season for Las Vegas they make the playoffs, right?

I'm a lifelong Penguins fan myself. We've had bountiful riches in lifting Lord Stanley's cup of late, so I'm fine is someone else gets it, tbh.

[EDIT] I'm a 'Rednexican' btw. No 'South-Canadian', fuck that shit. No gross maple syrup goes near these lips. I douse mah 'cakes in bacon fat and whiskey.

It's actually pretty amazing how Vegas has done so well this year with their team of leftover players other teams didn't want to protect, especially when looking at other expansion teams that are still struggling or just now getting decent (Nashville, Arizona).

I didn't mind Pittsburgh before but since Kessel was traded there I feel like as a leafs fan I have to dislike them.

Whoa, whoa there, no bashing maple syrup, who doesn't like delicious sugary tree sap on their food? My buddy even puts it on his spaghetti. We have whiskeys with it in it so you can have the best of both worlds.

I would like to see Vegas hoist the cup myself.

Oh yeah. I think I once had syrup with Jack Daniels in it once. Yummy.

I'd actually be pretty disappointed if Vegas won. They just started out, they haven't put in the time like all the other franchises building and rebuilding teams and growing their fanbases. Just doesn't seem right.

See, if you like hockey and whiskey with maple syrup, you practically are a Canadian, there's really not that much more to us.

It'd be funny. What would Vegas have to look forward to? Should they fold the team and go out as all-time champs?

I'm cheering for Winnipeg, Columbus and Vegas - my usual assortment of 'the weirdest possible teams.' The first round and the Cup final are always the best hockey of the year :D

Ha yes, they'd go down as the only team ever with a 100% stanley cup win rate!

Well you picked good, Winnipeg, Columbus and Vegas all won their first games so that's a good sign for you. Although I see from your location that you're from Toronto but not cheering for the leafs? That seems wrong to me where's the hometown pride?

Although the leafs got whalloped last night so I guess I don't blame you, although Boston is, in my opinion, the dirtiest team in the league. And Marchand is the dirtiest rat bastard since Sean Avery.
I'm definitely not bitter from their last playoff battle...not at all.

If Vegas somehow managed that it would be a glorious underdog story, and make them a team to follow next year just to see if they could pull it off again.

With the Sens and Habs both out i won't be paying much attention unless TO (who are we kidding) or Winnipeg makes it to the third round, or possibly if Vegas becomes a thing.

It'd be great if Vegas won, if only for the reason Lord Stanley's Cup would have just a great time. Just think of all the fun taking the cup around Las Vegas? The thing would need to have a thorough scrubbing and maybe visit the doc for a penicillin shot before it had to settle in for next season. I could actually see Hollywood scrambling to make The Hangover IV if they win just for the shenanigans they could get up to with the cup in Vegas.

Would watch.
Twice if they had Mike Tyson break his hand on the Cup.
Three times if Galafanackis dry-humps it in the photos during the credits.

Ok I'd probably watch that too, but only if there were some terrible cameos from hockey players who can't act, like those Connor Macdavid & Patrick Kane commercials on tv now.

I mean, some of it writes itself right?

- "Wolf Pack", after heavy drinking, relieve themselves into the cup.
- Mr. Chow enters scene. Thinks the cup is filled with champagne and/or beer. Grabs cup and pours contents into mouth and onto face.
- Gagging / vomiting ensues. "Wolf Pack" laughs uncontrollably. Zach Galifinakis says something really inappropriate or downright odd about the circumstance.

- Ed Helms bonds with hockey players missing teeth as well
- Bradley Cooper meets Patrick Sharp and they argue over who's hair & stubble is better looking
- Mark Messier drives them around in one of those terrible 3 wheeled motorcycles he's always selling.

Tell myself every year after NFL winds down that this is the year I will finally get into NHL. Never happens though. Next season I will. Which team should I make my fav and which should I make my burn in hell you pansy bitches!?

Toronto maple leafs should be everyone's favourite team, especially with how good Matthews and Marner are playing this year.

Burn in hell pants bitches should be Boston Bruins. Dirty team with dirty players that intentionally try to injure other players, I.e. Marchand and Chara.

Hockey's a great sport to get into, usually quite fast paced and exciting. Goals usuallu come morr often than on soccer but less than something like basketball so they're still really important, makes it more fun.

Ha thank you, but that just means they're due to win another one sometime soon! Especially with all the young talent they have right now (the first 2 games in this series aside) I think they have a real shot in the next few years.

I do think the 3 game suspension to Kadri is a little too much, basically taking one of their top 3 goal scorers out for the important games in this series.

Oh my! Vegas Golden Knights up on L.A. Kings 3 - 0. Lets keep it going VGK!

Why do you think they chose "Golden Knights"? Do you think it's a play on words regarding the experience most have when they visit Las Vegas? In other words - "honey, we're going to Vegas for the weekend. We're gonna have some golden nights!"

Vegas sweeps L.A. Kings. First team to do that in its inaugural season.

Who they gonna get next?

Keep it going Golden Knights!
