Law is one of those few viable avenues for Arts (Humanities) grads who suddenly realize "oh shit, I need a real career for the rest of my life!"

LOL.

I don't know how it is in Canadialand, but our "attorneys" are so saturated it is ridiculous. There are thousands of unemployed JDs and Esquires, or who have had to hang a shingle... Nothing. But wish you the best Ment.

I went to law school. Graduated. I'm in real estate now. Like my group. I like my job. I go into work and have fun and learn every day.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

We only have about 16 law schools. Each churning out maybe a 100 grads per year. (US has I think about 400 law schools?) So it's not terrible.

From personal experience, though, the situation's getting worse b/c there's a lot of non-Canadian law grads, who have a common law degree, do their equivalency exams and aspire to practice here.

On the other hand, aside from getting a JD and passing the Bar, a license candidate must also do a 10-month placement/apprenticeship, so that's been an additional barrier from having too many licensees.

That quote unquote residency program sounds like a really good idea.

I'm an unrelated query, does anyone know Itwaes Nom's real name, date of birth and address?
