Khell and Twelve look strong starters, everyone else seems to be building slowly.

twelve is a strong starter because he gets to use his resources on tech rather than ships. The University would never be allowed to do that in my gaming group.

Yeah I've been surprised by how unaggressive people have been, which obviously puts people like blend and twelve in the lead. Combat doesn't seem ideal in this game but some form of combat pressure seems necessary to curtail the universities and the traders, and to a lesser extent people like myself and itwaesgnaw.

Khell seems to have done quite well out of the peace but seems like he might have overextended. Will be interesting to see what happens next!

Enjoying my race so far but not really managed to do much of my action card thing yet.

We don't normally see much fighting in the first couple of rounds either, but certainly a lot more pressure against the players whom are most dependent on peace.

I don't think I've ever played the Tribes, but action cards are awesome.

I think the position of Blend and Twelve next to eaxh other is partly what drives the game right now. They're logical allies and only when the Mentak muscle in on that side of Mecatol will they need to make choices.

Sardakk lacks imho the firepower to be aggressively bullying early on. The 2 Carriers are great, but I'd gladly have sacrificed 2 infantry for 2 Fighters.

With this build, the lack of a tech like Gravitational Drive to muscle into territory and then rely on your infantry drops not being challenged, is felt.

A fast early start seems central to Sol play. Unfortunately, this is somewhat undermined by the paucity of the planets near me, which essentially forced my hand into diving straight for Mecatol. Once the mid-to-late game races ramp up, Sol is probably toast, so the idea is to accumulate the VPs early on and crawl to the finish line.

As for the lack of combat, I'm not surprised as I think we're all playing quite cautiously in what is for most of us our first game. The majority don't yet know all the variables of combat either. Of course, this does benefit the less combat-ready races.

I imagine a second game will be quite a bit more aggressive.

If Kell was aggressive from the get go I would have played very different. No integrated economy and more ships for sure. That was why I was pushing so hard for peace early on. I seek out knowledge not war. I strive to bring enlightenment to all races so more can benefit.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I haven't had much time to catch up (national holiday here, which manifests in flea markets followed by public drunkenness). Not really partaking of either but doing the shopping rounds is a pain.

I didn't miss anything. You sent an updated provisional that didn't include anything about construction and I followed the updated prov. I'll update it, but if you want more accurate prov. implementation clarity of communication is necessary.

I lost track of our speaker token deal but I notice two things: blend didn’t assign it and tatts didn’t give blend a tree refresh. Oversights or ??

Blend gets a refresh automatically, speaker token can only be done on Blend's turn, same with you exchanging the PN on your next go.

Tatts. Now That We Have commodities to trade want to? 2 for 2? Kell I have a feeling you are getting yours taken by Blend but if not want to do the other 2 for 2. Blend if khell is stripped of his commodities want a 2 for 2 or 4 for 4 if Tatts has other trading options he would like to honor?
