I think it’s one of those movies you will like it more if you read the book...
If you wait like two weeks Netflix bought rights to it. I have a local theater that is does these movies as Dolby Cinema .. so these theaters are Atmos based ..

I know the film you mean now, having seen a trailer.
haven't read the book but it has been talked about somewhere on the forums, regarding the adaptation anyway

Haven't watched the film yet. I think it comes out on Netflix soonish? I'll watch it then.
But after reading the books and watching the latest trailer for the film, I think the film actually looks more like what I wanted out of the later books. From what I've heard the film takes a lot of liberties which is also what the trailers suggest.
That's a less subtle way of showing what the books suggested was lurking inside the zone. Can't wait to see how they interpret the ending of the series.

Just watched it having never read any of the books.
It was... Strange. Enjoyable for the most part and pretty intense in places but quite weird and I'm not sure I fully understood what was actually going on...
I'll await further thoughts to come from people.

I enjoyed it. Truly interesting.
I left the movie with a lot more interest in what happens after the end scene.
I'm quite certain this movie is one of the few that deserves a sequel but should NEVER get it.

This movie takes the story Vandermeer told and moves it into a different universe to do different things with it. Vandermeer was more interested in the incorporation of old into new and the endless forking of evolution to move past dead ends into something new. There were multiple "trying but this isn't working right" moments by both the humans and the Area X things for Vandermeer's books. I think Garland is more interested in the change of things and the inexplicableness of that change to others. The characters mostly find answers in Area X to questions that they carried around with them and it's really really difficult for them to explain to others what they just learned. They try, but they mostly fail and it's just part of what they learned.
I loved this movie. I think it's a masterpiece and also that it's going to be hated by many people, even critics, as unlikable or up its own beautiful ass for a very long time. The accessibility of the movie isn't easy and the main characters not immediately able to be connected with.
But it does move the story line into something more condensed and perhaps more easily grasped, even if the Area X scientists are left uncomprehending at the end.
I wonder how Borne would do as an anime.

I don't think that was the ambien to be fair.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

I enjoyed the movies combination of book 1 and 3 much more than the story in the books. Somewhat more straight forward and equally weird.
