Oh yeah I forgot something last night. Been wondering why I havenít seen any 4 man bobsledding this Olympics. Saw a few heats of some last night as I was flipping through the 2 channels covering the Games. 4 man bobsledding looks really hilarious when ambien kicks in.

Canadians? Stealing??? Isn't it against their genetics or somesuch?

At least they apologised nicely.

EDIT: looking at it again, I call shenanigans - not a single "aboot", or "eh". Probably USAnians pretending to be Canadians.

Boozy night out ends in car theft

A Canadian ski cross racer, his wife and coach were busted for allegedly getting drunk and stealing a car to get back to the Olympic Village on Saturday, Korean authorities said.

The Canadian Olympic Committee, ski cross racer Dave Duncan, his wife Maja and technical coach William Raine all apologised for the boozy joy ride that landed the three briefly in jail.

Dave and Maja Duncan issued a joint statement, apologising for “behaviour that demonstrated poor judgment.”

The Duncans said they did not live up “to the standards expected of us as members of the Canadian Olympic Team or as Canadians.”

Technical coach William Raine called his actions “inexcusable.”

“I would like to apologise profusely for my inexcusable actions,” Raine said.

“Words are not enough to express how sorry I am. I have let my teammates, friends and my family down.”

Duncan, 35, finished eighth in the men’s ski cross small final on Wednesday.

It wasn’t immediately clear who was behind the wheel.

The driver had a blood-alcohol level of .162 per cent, well over the local limit of .05, police told The Canadian Press.

One of the trio was found passed out in the stolen Hummer when they were pulled over by police, authorities said.

Entering the games, Canadian Olympians prided themselves on winning with class.

The team’s official slogan for PyeongChang was: “Be Virtuous, Be Victorious, be Olympic.”

“We expect our athletes and team members to conduct themselves responsibly and in keeping with our Canadian and Olympic values,” Canadian Olympic Committee CEO Chris Overholt said in a statement Saturday.

“We are deeply disappointed in the behaviours of these individuals. All team members are expected to respect the laws of South Korea and all places we compete in around the world.”

The Gala is pretty badass!

Ugh Games end tomorrow. I always get so sad on the last day after watching countless hrs of the worlds best going at it(except that one Cali gal under Hungry flag in Halfpipe) and knowing itís going to be 4 yrs till next. Maybe I should watch X Games and other such events to fill the gaps...

Canada aint no Shangri-La. I know there's this impression that everyone there is nice and when things get bad in America, it's the first place to move. Just like America (or any other place) Canada has its good, its bad and its indifferent.

Closing Ceremony starting.

:(

Some very notable US golds. Not our best total medal count for sure. Now we have a goal to top Norway breaking our 2010 record. We gonna hit 40. 2022 ought to be exciting as hell.

Overall I thought this was an outstanding event.

One take away from this Winter Olympics:

With the advent of ultra high definition / 4K resolution, the outline of men's genitalia beneath those aerodynamic suits is a lot more noticeable now.

Enjoyed watching the Olympics, but i'm still glad they're finished.

Its basically 17 days of different ways to slide.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

So, wanted to make you guys aware. The Winter Paralympics finished up this past Sunday. It's tied to the the Winter Olympics and is recognized by the IOC. The summer and winter events always take place at the same location right after the main Olympic competition finishes.

With that said, can you guess which country wins the medal count when you tally both Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics? Hmmm...who do you think it is?... so you know...perspective.Posted Image
