But every gone-Dark-side paladin has the ability to take over alts I believe, and the chances are that by this time a Paladin would have broken their vow, whichever it was, they could even do it intentionally if they found that a different set of abilities would suit them better. When was the first occasion of someone having their alt taken over?

Not sure on that, possible Galayn but not been following that closely.

Surely if the BB's are gone then the takeover alt person/faction wins.
