Apologies, the Divine Smite wording could be better, but its meant to modify your regular attack, which in your case is your Rapier attack. It doesn't work to buff magical spell damage.

If you let me know before I'm done resolving that you'd like to use Rapier with Divine Smite instead of Vicious Mockery, I'll accept the change.
