I'm not going to say that I'll be happy when Katie Hopkins dies, because that would be monstrous and sociopathic. What I will say is that no one will be sad.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

There is no special kind of evil. This guy killing kids was evil. Drone bombing weddings, funerals, mosques, and hospitals is evil. Dropping white phosphorus on villagers is evil. Making $100 billion arms deals with Saudi Arabia is evil. Cutting healthcare budgets by hundreds of billions of dollars is evil. These 20 year old morons at least have the excuse of being brainwashed. They're the pawns. WTF is the excuse of middle-aged men in mansions and skyscrapers? Evil isn't exceptional, it's business as usual for men who want to dominate. It's right to be sickened and angry by these young fools who've been duped. But save your rage for the people who dupe them, who profit from it.

Tom Tomorrow posted a poem yesterday from (American poet, not actress/dame) Maggie Smith that really nailed it. Maybe others are familiar with it, I'd never seen it before as I'm not too big into poetry.

I'm still knocking around, and iirc Cougar's no longer based here.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. Lincoln. A fate even he doesn't deserve.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts. It was a very strange city to live in today. Sombre and shocked, but also determined and resilient.

Fid and IH are both Manchester based but I doubt they'll have been at a Ariane Grande concert.

I was not at an Ariane Grande concert. Fid's been active on facebook since the attack too.
