Mafia 142.5 - Bauchelain & Korbal Broach Game Thread

Ugh, I see why Rashan has a headache. So breaking it down logically:
The first 3 votes on SR were Rash, Nim, and Merrid. These first 3 seem to be unlikely killers, each having to plan on ditching their partner before committing to such a risk.
The second 3 votes on SR were Kilava, Osseric, and Jalan (the last 2 of which are dead). Kilava holds a funny place of either seeing the light and jumping on before looking like he was helping lynch SR or genuinely joining the train seeing SR as scum.
That leaves Galain and myself as the odd ones out still alive (not having voted for SR), together with Kilava comprising the top 3 suspects.
We are sticking with WCS and assuming the Symp is still alive and well, which means most likely there is a 2/3 chance of hitting scum among us, even if there is a 2/3 chance of having an RI CF.
Galain seems to be the most vocally on SR's side day 1, while I am somewhere inbetween and Kilava seems thoroughly unattached. To me, this seems like Kilava is the most likely scum killer (distance) with me as the second pick and Galain as symp.
Now, outside of the box, let us consider that scum figured SR fucked up and/or got frightened by the possibility of a healer/BG duo. If there is some reason that SR could be voted for by the first 3 to the advantage of scum, that ballsy play may be the edge to win by. Nim started the vote on SR, commenting on how SR seemed to want to lynch a healer. Rashan backed this up and added his own, calling the move "daft." Nim then dodged over to Galain before returning to SR. And finally Merrid made the train leave the station.
Nim bouncing around makes me think his stance on SR was not that intentional or strong. Moreover, I still think there is a very very remote possibility he is not who he says he is.
Rashan was very firmly and intentionally after SR, but could that be a cold decision to make him into what he has become: one of the best reasoners on thread with a rock solid alibi.
Finally Merrid, who tussled with Nim all early day 1, is making a move that damns SR, but not for sure. Again, could this be a calculated distancing move? I remember Merrid kind of melting into the background towards the end.

Ampelas that looks scummy trying to discredit the healer.
If the real healer decided to not counter Nim then he would have been leaving us with a CI scum.
No one will want to lynch Nim from then on.

Scum could just withold their kill if we go to night if they think their symp is alive. They would want to lynch.
What else..
Oh two things, firstly can anyone check Kilava's post count by day please?
Lastly, Merrid has been fairly quiet since early day one. Anyone today deciding to "look" into Galain must be fucking looked at because of how the game has went.

By one you mean two. Monday is, as is generally known, my mostly free day. Since then I've had 3 12 hour runs at work and just finished an 8 today. I tend to go quieter when I'm doing stuff like that for obvious reasons.
Why should I not look into you? D1 your vote was on Osserc (RI CF) despite SR looking very bad. Now why was SR looking bad? Because I created a situation whereby his second vote on a revealed Healer put him in such an indefensible position he had to claim it was a joke. This is SR who CF'd Scum. So you want to comment on my quieter play then make sure you're putting the town effort in yourself first.
Now I'm going to go into my re-read irked at you. Well done. That's really setting me up for making snap judgements against you.

I'd like to lynch Nimander on general principles. Unfortunately, I can't this game. If I had any remaining doubt about them I'd be voting there already. A lack of a counter-claim this late in the game does say that they're genuine.
On that point you can be sure I'm not scum because if I had a kill I'd have either killed him or been killed by the Bodyguard as I tried to kill him. I'm sure it is mutual too.

Perhaps don't stop at day 1. Why not go into day 2 and work out why I'm probably not the killer.
Me, I'm thinking Merrid at the moment, but from going back to my original thoughts rather than anything new I've seen yet.

So knowing this, like everyone else, why do you feel the need to read it again? That's my point. Have you been saving me for end game knowing how scummy I looked day one by "defending SR".

@Merrid.
Look at that NK speculation wifom. No one would target the revealed healer because of the BG. We lynched scum day one so you'd just be throwing in the towel.

Because I haven't actually re-read thread once yet this game. I've not had the time. I'm "saving you for end game" because you're still alive dammit, isn't that obvious? In re-reading I'll be reading everyone else too. At least you know you look like shit D1, you'll have had to up your game since then. I want to see evidence of that.

Which speculation? Mine?
As for targeting the Healer, yes it is obviously a good place for the Bodyguard to go. But they know that scum knows this so they know scum will target elsewhere. Scum realise that the Bodyguard knows... Do you see where I'm going with this?

Yeah being the swing vote on Silchas makes me an ideal partner. Perhaps you've mistaken me for Khell?

I'd like to think Denul was the symp but WCS and all. So we'd lose one of Amp, Galain, Kilava or Rashan (I'm counting me out since Nim indicated he's healed me before so I may be a little too good a chance to be healed again.) I'll speculate it'd be Rashan because they've been sensible and pretty stand-up so far so they're who I'd kill. Leaving us with exactly the same quandary tomorrow; Amp, Galain, Kilava. Or Nim gets lucky with a Heal and we have the same 6 of us hanging around again.

It's quite clear SR realised they messed up, this is pointless speculation.
After all this I'm not seeing how you end up voting Kilava. Rashan seems to be the read that stands out to you for potential cold play, why no vote there?
@NIM: With symp CF'ing as RI it is usual here to play to absolute WCS; 1 killer, 1 symp. You made some comment about symp CFs I think so just making sure you understand

So frienemy...
I'd be much obliged if you would give Kilava a long, hard rethink.
I'm kinda looking them for scum considering the killers are completely avoiding π.
Why a rethink? Have I indicated I think they're town somewhere?
You need to find a new ASCII/ANSI characters because I rated you up from PI to VPI to CI so far this game.
You do still need to produce a case if you expect to be taken seriously because I'm not playing on D-Day based on your gut. Remember your opinion of Jalan?

That's the thing though. I know it's not me, and I'm sceptical still about it being Ampelas. So that only leaves the option on the table of either a cold-blooded killer (you, Rashan), or one who's apparently been incredibly blatant about defending Silchas (Galain).

I think Nim would disagree about me being cold-blooded Rashan from my recollections has been generally solid. I need to take a hard look at their posting around the SR train start too then I guess.
Galain tends to play like me a lot (or, I suppose, I play like them) - why we occasionally get mistaken. You place yourself mentally as scum and consider what you'd be doing on thread at whatever point in the game. You then look for people doing something like what you'd do.

Each night, you may choose to heal a target player. If they were targeted by a kill, they will instead survive."
I searched that role high and low. No mention of finding, lover pairs, or knowing who the other person is....
So sad now.

Go easy, it probably took him a while to figure out he was a Healer from the flavour in that PM
