Busy morning. In and out, but I have been trying to catch up on reading.

To address Rashan's points, all very astute. All I can say is that originally my Denul comment was made very early on and in passing (if you read it in context, I was doing a first read and noting things that stood out). As for the Kilava case, I was already looking at Kilava long before SR had any semblance of a train, and in the end, I stuck with my case on Kilava not seeing much in the SR case (which of course I was way wrong about).

As for the case on Merrid, I am not sure Rashan why you wouldn't think Merrid would be ballsy enough or smart enough to jump on the train at that point. With it taking only 6 to lynch and with the heat SR was receiving, it was going to take quite a push to remove said interest from SR; so, it makes sense for scum to jump on at that point. Moreover, I still wanted questions answered on Kilava, even if SR was to be lynched, hence me staying where I was and offering to hammer, even though the direction of the lynch was obvious and certain.

For now, I am adding my vote to Merrid, though I still need to continue my read from Galain onward. Maybe end of day today, but I am ramping up to give a presentation tomorrow.

Vote Merrid

SR was receiving heat, but only 2 votes. One of them from Nim who was flip-flopping between suspects.

Merrid was no 3, I checked. Kilava switched from Galain later.

Assuming Merrid scum in that situation, with the competing train being at 2 with the classic Day 2 case of "too smooth ™ " and 2 virtual unknowns (Osseric and Jalan) who could show up late and jump onto either train, why take the risk of pushing your partner's train ahead and into plausible lynch territory?

I'm not seeing that as the most plausible explanation

Ok, I'm going to put this out there now. Galain is symp. I'd bet my left testicle. There are all of his interactions today (Which are scummy as fuck), but his play yesterday at the time that the SR train stated building is what is sealing it for me.

I'll hop back and grab quotes.

At the moment I would bet Jalan's left testicle on this too.

Disgusting.

Care to elaborate, or are we resorting to the unhelpful sniping that you criticized on day 1?

I've stated my thoughts.

Cases are for scum.

Er..... wat?

You'll never fit in here with THAT attitude

If you seriously have a problem with my philosophy, why not work it out in a game where my alignment is not in question?

Cases are used car sales pitches.

Everybody has the same information on the same players. If we are being up front and open on our thoughts in every post, we shouldn't need a "case" to summarize those thoughts to empower the lazy to lean on our work product.

Scum have much to gain by selling their used cars. I just want to find scum.

Cases are useful for convincing people to vote the way you feel/want them to. It adds substance to your beliefs. In addition, the way you interpret others' posts and build a case allows other players to learn something about you, so it becomes useful both ways.

It's cute how you act like I don't know the purpose of cases.

Perhaps you know the purpose but you seem to disagree with it. I'm simply stating why I find them useful and your opinion ignorant ;)

I'm simply stating you're wrong and that cases serve to empower scum and lazy town.

Anyone that is actually following the game doesn't need a "case" spoon fed to them as long as players are being forthright with their opinions and findings in every post.

Scum want "cases" because it gives them something to work with to improve their image, ironically enough.

TL;DR> I'm too lazy to allow town to be lazy and cater scum's luncheons.

The vote, obviously.

It's never a good thing to vote town.

Criticizing sniping doesn't sound like me.

Did I really do that?

Ok, I'm not going to direct quote because I'd have to quote two full pages of bullshit from Galain. Hop back to pages 5 and 6 starting with post 176 by Rashan debating intent to join the SR train with Nim.

Galain hops on soon after and starts going apeshit truing to deflect the lynch from SR.

Cases can certainly empower scum and make them look like they're contributing - something I've often done myself. I'm not disputing that. But I do believe that they have far more positive than negative aspects. They serve to order thoughts, and they promote analytical argument (which in and of itself is always useful to a person here on in RL!). They can provide evidence for others to see, to back up what you want your teammates to do. There is a difference between following the game page to page and joining the dots on one or two individuals.

Your main criticism actually seems to be that it allows others to be 'lazy' while a minority do the work in making up the cases, which makes you resenful. While that can be broadly true, I find nothing wrong with that. There are always going to be more active and more passive players, and I find that who is what can switch from game to game. Sometimes I manage to contribute a ton, other times I'm more on the sidelines. As a member of a team, I don't mind (and enjoy) going through the thread and showing others what I've found. I don't consider those others to be lazy if they don't do it. Often, I find that they see things in the posts I haven't seen, or think of connections after I've laid them out that I didn't make. Or call me an idiot who's built a nonsensical case and then lynch me ;)

Please tell me that doesn't actually happen on d1.

Only couple of times a year

What do you mean, those are some of our finest moments!

I'm not seeing the same Merrid that got all uptight over my d1 claim also being willing to joke so openly with his buddy if he were scum.

GTFO him.

Who really keeps track of the names of the scum players like this?

Agreed with Galain being symp.

BG, I want you alive.

If you agree with me about Galain, claim today. If you're countered, it would have to be by the last killing scum to have any shot at success.

So, even if you lose a claim war, it would out the last killer and win the game.

Alternatively, if the bg is Merrid, there is no reason to claim because that's my target unless I'm wrong. ;)

Merrid and Jalan the only ones missing from this list of what Silchas 'thinks'.

For the record I have never seen whatever movie it was and I don't remember it from the SImpsons, I know it from a song (where it's not "the loneliest")

remove vote

I don't get Nim's vote on Galain but I don't think me questioning everything Nimander does and I don't get leads anywhere or is much helpful so I'll just leave Nimander be

I need to reread the but it seems like Kilava has managed to stay relatively low despite not being low-poster. Denul's non-commitment warrants attention but his play has not been that much different from mine so they're not that supicious to me.

Galain, Rashan and Ampelas are all serious and sensible, maybe that's not such a bad place to look too. But I admit they all make sense in some way, but Ampelas is giving me the most tryhard feeling of them.

I like Galain's vote on Osserc, although as Rashan points out they have too little posts for my liking, would like to hear more from them.

Why couldn't the symp claim with any chance at success?

Because there is a 0% chance I ever believe Galain is the BG?
