Ok, continue this in the morning. I need to get a little work done before bed. But here is where I am at thus far:

I think Denul may be a symp and see a lot of connections between him and SR. On the other hand, I have only just started in on Galain, so I will comment on that in the morning.

Also, there are a lot of back and forth ties with Merrid, who may be worth considering a deeper read, but I am still just getting the landscape.

Night all.

Apologies for my absence today. After work I had to run some errands and then had a date with my sister (please refrain from any remarks I myself would be eager to make. ;) )

I can't help but noticing the presence of capitalization in the above quote. Perhaps it's a message? I cannot decipher it but maybe one among us can make sense of it. Or not.

Due to my blunders you already know who I am. I capitalize (what I consider) proper nouns and/or formal terms. Scum. Healer. Idiot. Tool. The last two don't fit the bill, but they'll have to do to finish the secret code. "Shit."

Funny how someone who makes Offensive Accusations can remark that the replies to them are Suspiciously Defensive. Be that as it may, if you think I'm the Symp then go ahead and Lynch me. I'm confident Scum is going to lose this one and I'll still win with the Town.

Merrid makes a good point about Osserc's death. It would be pretty foolish of Jalan to make such a kill. (Though foolishness is not limited to Townies alone. It just seems that way ;) )

Anyway, my hardon for Jalan isn't as rigid as it was at the end of Day 1, but it's far from gone flaccid.

What?

So you want us to blindly believe you're right?

If he's scummy, prove it to the rest of us. TEAM town.

Right now you're sounding like nothing but gut.

Did I ask for your trust?

No. I did not.

Make up your own mind.

Very rapid (these are consecutive posts) defense of SR's vote on Nim. Proactive even.

Some might argue that's exactly what a partner wouldn't do.

I missed that Ampelas post during my read. My posts weren't in defense of SR or anyone else, including myself.

Ampelas really is putting a great deal of effort into trying to paint me as a Symp. In fact, I've never before seen so much single-minded effort devoted to a Symp hunt. Ever.

Partner, no. But a symp might, and that's what Ampelas is driving at. It's the most attractive case I can see right now. Trouble is it doesn't necessarily point to the other killer as yet.

On the other hand, this is true re the capitalisation. Doesn't negate the soft pushing away from Silchas in the other posts, but certainly Denul's explanations for the capitalisation checks out.

Not interested in hanging the symp, though.

Identifying the some in order to hunt for the second killer, I can understand. Hope this isn't anything more than that, though. It would be stupid to intentionally lynch the symp.

Also also, knowing who the symp is only really matters if they're trying to defend a suspected killing scum.

Symp hunting is, for the most part, smoke and mirrors used to hide lack of productivity.

See the way SR was around early day one but when Nimander starts to talk about town roles he leaves the conversation, well so does Denul. Denul is actually there and responds to Merrid's posts but ignores what Nim had to say. Until the reveal to which they say this

this is no opinion on Nimander's play at all.

*sigh*

So you've made that call all by yourself. You don't know who the Bodyguard is, if they've checked in or what they might think of your plan. Whilst I applaud you putting the idea out there early on so people can see it because I like to talk mechanics, it would have been much better for you to wait on the reactions of *all 10* players not just the 5 (4+you) who've been active so far. You've tried to force the reveal of a town role, regardless of the thoughts of the person holding that role. You've attempted to dictate the play of the other role purely to ensure your own survival whilst negating any skill on the part of the Bodyguard of correctly predicting who the kill will be. I don't like that.

If there's a counterclaim then I'm voting you first of the two claimants.

Merrid as a killer trying to get the symp to counter reveal? So we may lynch our healer.

Here we go, from here. This is where SR starts to get heat, I am looking for those who are wishy or washy ie not certain of his innocence like I was OR ready to throw their partner under the bus. Everyone's post/vote has to be genuine up to their play so far.

Denul is immediately available for comment on the vote but posts twice without mentioning it and continues to joke around.

Merrid defends his play against Nim's accusations, does not comment on the SR at this point.

Denul continues to joke around.

Merrid continues to defends his play but does highlight the SR vote a little later.

He then votes Ampelas and mentions Jalan who both have not checked in.

Rashan comes along knocking down walls, and setting the thread alight with his impeccable logic.

Afterwards he says this

Vote 2 on an aggro train on Day 1 is a more reasonable place to look for scum, I agree.

So Rashan is 99% not the other killer.

That 1% that says he is the killer, knows SR did a big mistake with that vote and is leaning in his direction BUT later he does berate me for ignoring SR which in a way sees SR lynched, maybe if I was pro SR lynch then there may have been more doubts?

No one is interested in hanging the symp. It's about looking for potential connections. At the moment I think Jalan or Merrid is most likely the other killer, based on what others have uncovered. Haven't done my own read as yet.

I know! It sounded sad in my head.

The last time we caught Scum on Day 1 (Blend) I got lynched on Day 2 (or close to it) for hammering!

-----

Regarding Symp coaching: Whether the Symp is a rookie or a grizzled vet, Scum doesn't know who they are one way or the other. It's irrelevant.

Two can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one - ber.

I wasted valuable time reading the roles and scenario.

Just a quick note, this was what first caught my attention. In a scenario with paired killers, anything saying "pair" or "two" immediately catches the eye. Two (killers) can be as bad as one (killer). Indeed.

Well, ya caught me. I wasn't just responding to the first line of a cheesy Three Dog Night song from the 70s with the second line to a cheesy [/i]Three Dog Night[/i] song from the 70s. I'm scum through-and-through; signaling my master in my second post of day 1. You, sir, are a Mafia genius.

We know now that SR was scum, so this wording from Denul has me thinking Ampelas was right.

Rashan adds to SR, Nim removes to me, so Rashan is main SR voter right now.

Ah I see you do later on address this when asked.

Silchas' reasoning after their vote does not strike me as particularly jokey, and that's what made me suspicious of it. And just a little while ago they gave a rundown of various people, pointing fingers in a few different places. None of it's cast iron, but the dude gives me some off vibes.

Not sure on Galain any more. Obviously they've said a lot more today, most of it pretty obvious and along the lines of what was said yesterday. In any case I think I may switch to Silchas later.

Edit: it's not its.

1:1 is always a town-sided trade.
I also don't really know what you mean by this. Do you mean revealing one town for one scum? But they're not revealed as in confirmed - because the rest of town (and the other roled town) do not know which one to believe.
No. I mean death.1 Town death is a worthy price if it results in a scum kill the next day.1:1 trade.Edit: fu autocorrect
But how would it do that? Your original proposal was that the healer and bodyguard effectively stay alive for the duration of the game by protecting each other through revealing. I'm saying that likely won't work because scum can fake-reveal. So then you change your stance and say that well, we effectively vote to lynch the revealer and the counter-revealer in an effort to get rid of scum. In which case, yes, the scum is dead - but so is the roled town, for the rest of the game. It's not a great trade because the scum who dies is most likely the symp, who doesn't even need to be rid of for town to win the game. So in a sense it would be two days spent talking about that, rather than finding the two killers, no?

For what it's worth, I like the gumption - really started the game proper off quickly!
I'm all about game breaking.I don't always have the perfect answer, but that's why the rest of town is here... to help figure that stuff out.
lol, it's like going in the fridge and cupboards, throwing all the ingredients for dinner out all over the kitchen, and then saying, 'well, I've done my part!' ;)
Just because you have the ingredients in front of you, doesn't mean they're being wasted.
No, but why am I always the one who has to clean up?In any case, this could prove useful even without further reveals. Killers aren't now likely to take the risk of targetting you. Which leaves you free to do your thing if you are a healer.

Any town that feels the need to discredit town through such insidious measures are playing directly against their win con.
So anyone who questions or criticises you is scum or working against town, because you're town? And the rest of us know that for certain because...?By that same logic, you accusing me of being scummy is scummy and/or acting against town, because, you know, I'm town myself.

Also, in my experience, scum tend to sit off to the sidelines when events like this happen, and let town eat themselves, rather than directly engaging.

Lots of posts, keep them coming. I will look forward to reading up in the morning and getting my teeth stuck into the game. I have not read any of it yet but it looks promising.
Vote Galain Just the kind of thing I would say when I HAVE read all the posts but don't want to interrupt town shouting at each other.

Here is a sampling from Kilava's content. As I said early, he caught my attention as a little too, dare I say it, smooth. The second to last quote really cinches it for me. Isn't that what Kilava was doing up to that point. And the only vote is a case based on what he would do if he was scum?

There isn't much interaction in regards to actual cases (as was pointed out when pressing him for an opinion on Merrid) and what SR may be referring to is the lack of commitment to what other people say (e.g. backing up or tearing down a lynch case). Yes, Kilava was very argumentative with Nim early on, but it was all speculation on mechanics. Nothing really focused on one person or another. Dodgy, even by his own standards I'd say.

vote Kilava

Ampelas backs up SR's vote, but is not wholly agreeable with SR throughout the game, maybe good distancing between the two but the fact remain that Amp's vote never hits SR. I'd assume scum would want to be on the scum train though.

Yes, FOUR (4)

I'm thinking SR is implying NG is helping scum ergo effectively scum too.

Although, reading further on, no, they're actually still not answering why you'd be 2nd vote on a claimed town role.

Vote Silchas Ruin

Here is Merrid pushing SR out ahead in terms of the race for the lynch. 3rd vote on SR is a safe place for scum to hide, he has not shown doubt about SR until this post, and he of all people in this game should understand voting for Nimander as a viable joke vote or protest vote.
