I'm happy to see any adaptation of Black Company in any form, by any director, because I love the series. It'd be awesome and I'd be 100% buying in to it.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

They should get the folks behind that Wheel of Time pilot. Croaker in two words: Billy Zane.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

This.
Even though I already feel afraid. I want it to be good enough to overshadow GOT (because BC is BETTER@!!!!), but I fear it is going to be horrible.

Always the risk, but you never know! The more risks taken on these the better. One or two will hit and stick!

True. I'm more apprehensive they'll turn it into something generically "epic" than outright bad. The best thing about the series is its personality. If they manage to get through the whole show without a shot of two charging armies meeting in the middle of the screen like someone just hiked a football, it'll have my gratitude.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

There are elements to the BC books that, handled properly, could make for good tv. The basics of an elite yet utterly quirky merc company who switch sides to protect a chosen one from an evil overlord and his collection of fetishist mages has potential.
Except it's tv, not film, which means we'll get a THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES only with gimp suits instead of elf ears.
Put me on the wholly sceptical side.

It'd have to be paid cable like GoT. I think they could pull off the first three if done well. Hardest parts would be the missing action, like the pull back from "Roses?" where there's no reason given other than that the 13 are advancing.
But the Limper would be an epic character.

I'm having a hard time believing they'll be able to capture what makes TBC awesome and put it on tv.
But, by god, I sure hope they pull it off.

I would so so much rather see this well done then wheel of time. That being said unless it is hbo/showtime, fx, amc, or scify. The odds are very high that it will suck. I am not hopeful.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

I'd rather see... well, almost anything done than wheel of time. I think the combination of fairly cliche-heavy source material (especially early on) and the simplification that almost inevitably occurs when adapting books to other mediums wouldn't lead anywhere good. If you strip away the sheer level of detail WoT contains, it's easy to see an adaption that's just left with 'prophecied orphan farmboy goes on a heroic quest to collect as many cliches as possible'.
As a side note, I don't mean 'simplication' critically -- we could just as easily call it 'refinement' depending on how successful it is. Either way, there's a process involved in adapting a very long series of books into a format that's generally not so spacious, and I don't think it would treat WoT very well.
By contrast The Black Company seems well suited to a snappy, character driven, episodic format.

I was really hoping for a Sanjay Bhansali-style Bollywood adaptation of this, but I guess this is a good second choice, too.
Drek is obviously a Bollywood Glam Heroine looking to pitch some new ideas to Bansali.
Let me guess

Deepika seems more likely to lead a double life as Malazan God/dess of Decomposition.

I mean. I wanna say that I am excited for this, but I am afraid to say anything now.

Heh yeah I figured that maybe such a silly joke shouldn't last so long that people are saying 'finally' when it stops. I feel a bit odd not having one now though. Sorry about your feeling!
